Lr-fba-next Control mapping

I’ve got a question about the mappings for the lr-bfa-next.

The control mappings seem to change on different roms.

I.e. In Marvel Vs Capcom the action buttons are mapped like this.

RetroArchkey - Mame Button Number

Y=1 X=2 L=3 B=4 A=5 R=6

But in DoDonPachi they are this.

Y=1 B=2

So, it there anyway in this core to make the button mapping static?

Thanks. Later, dabone

that’s the intention. each game has an a different internal mapping, so the core input remapping tells you what that is so you can set up the maps.

I’m using an arcade stick, so for some games buttons 1 and 2 are on the top, sometimes they are the far left, etc. Why would there not be an option to make button 1 always button 1, button 2 always button 2, etc.???

And my next question is, how do I tell what button is mapped where for each game? Trial and error? or is there a list showing how they are mapped per rom?

Thanks. Later, dabone

I have this exact issue, and I find it terrible! With an XBox controller, I would prefer to use the frontal 4 buttons usually, but with fighting games it shuffles everything in a non-sense configuratino. Is there no way to avoid this mess and let the buttons be static?

Could you be more precise ? Game ? How does the configuration makes no sense ?
