Mame-2003-plus: How to make joystick works like a Dial?

Hi guys, I checked online but couldn’t find any answer to my problem:

I was playing Arkanoid using mame-2003-plus core and this game uses a paddle/dial controller. Mouse works perfectly as intended but Joystick only works digitaly, like a d-pad (so 100% left or right). I couldn’t make my joystick (PS3 pad) work analogly, so as smooth as the mouse.

Is it even supported by the core?

I don’t know, but for what it’s worth, it’s supported in FBNeo.
