Hi, I’ve been playing around with the MAME cores and everithing works fine. That is until I try to load a CHD based game. It just tries to load and sometimes shows a quick screen before crashing with no warning or error. I’ve tried all the MAME cores available right now and the games work perfectly on my stand alone MAME setup. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
You need the ROM and the CHD in the same directory, and you need read/write access to that directory (and possibly also ‘system’).
…and also save directory for save/mame/diff in which mame puts stuff for chd games (not sure what it is).
But it’s working here on win7 x64.
I have roms and .chd on same directory and they have read/write access. Hadn’t thought of the diff folder. but I’ll have to check where to configure that in RA. Thanks
It’s your “savefile dir” in retroarch.
“System / Bios Dir” also needs to be defined to put Mame hash folder (for MESS softlist system), the cheat.7z and Mame inis (like a system/mame/ini/neogeo.ini with “bios unibios31” in it to use that bios with neogeo games).
