Two months ago I was playing fullspeed and I could easily fast forward. I don’t know exactly the time it started, but I can barely hit 20 something fps!, everything is unplayable.
You can try the year-stamped desmume core, which has been largely superseded by BearOso’s rebase. Most people get better performance with the rebased version, but if you’re getting worse, it’s worth seeing if the old one treats you better.
That one is running slow too. They both were super fast about two months ago. I wanted to know if it’s something on my end or if some commit radically changed performance. I’m gonna build an older version and see for myself.
If both are suddenly going slower, it sounds like something on your end. Make sure your power settings are set to max performance.
Well, it wasn’t DeSmuME… my whole system was borked by some careless misconfiguration. Everything is now as snappy as before. Sorry for the confusion, please delete the whole thread .
