Mednafen PSX Multitap Issue

I noticed a minor bug with multitap support for the Mednafen core. It looks like whenever you activate the multitap for a game, the game will automatically show five controllers (Four from multitap + one from other player input) no matter how many controllers you assign or disable in Retroarch (as far as I can tell at least).

Note that this is different from behavior in stand-alone Mednafen which will show only the four active controllers unless you tell it otherwise.

If I’ve missed a setting somewhere, please let me know!

Still haven’t figured this out, but I had a thought. Is it possible that retroarch is automatically detecting my controllers and that’s what’s causing this issue? I have four DS3s and a playstation remote connected, and I’ve seen other emulators detect the remote as a controller before (MagicEngine) so I’m wondering if that’s the problem.

If so, is there a way to disable one of the controllers?

Can you just unplug one of them to test? If they’re all connected wirelessly, you should be able to just turn one of them off, I think.

Unplugging didn’t fix the issue. But after a lot of testing I figured it out. It looks like I had one of the controller IDs double assigned in my config and that was causing chaos. Sorry for the trouble!

No problem!
