Mednafen PSX still bugged on OpelGL renderer

Hello. Thought i’d talk more about Mednafen PSX: It still doesn’t function well for me on the OpenGL renderer. Things are emulated perfectly on Software mode, but I want to use OpenGL for more speed and PGXP. I can’t though. Textures are still missing, corrupted, missing polygons, corrupted FMVs, etc. And other graphical effects don’t work right.

I’ve only updated just yesterday, and my hardware simply does not support Vulkan. What’s the situation with the OpenGL renderer?

Some of the Vulkan improvements will be backported to the GL renderer, and simias is planning to do a rewrite of it to make it more compatible with older GPUs.

Can’t wait for that day to come… Software mode for me, luckily, is close to full speed for a subpar PC. Sometimes it’s full speeds, sometimes it’s just slightly slower than full speed. The “overclock” feature also, is amazing! https://twitter.com/sh00ting___star/status/805936189136105472 (60 FPS in Chrono Cross at times!)

I know the overclock doesn’t actually raise CPU speed, but instead loosens the CPU and Memory’s timing to their maximum possible speeds. However, the PS2 actually plays PSX games at a slightly overclocked speed! 37 MHz I believe as opposed to 33 MHz. I’d love if this feature could be added upon. Would have three settings: “Off” “Fast timing only”, and “Fast timing + 37MHz mode”. Would really help the games that may still have slowdown.

(And, also… didn’t gpuBladesoft try to implement a Z-buffer into PSX emulation?)
