@HyperspaceMadness Will you include the HDR versions of Megatron shader in the future? It looks really good, but I don’t want to choose between that and all the good stuff from Bezel Reflection Shader!

Up until now it had seemed that the SDR version in Windows HDR mode was giving about the same result.

Now that you’ve shown that you are getting different results and black crush, I’ll look into seeing what I need to do to make it happen. If I’m lucky maybe it wont be a big deal.

@e2zippo, how would you feel about being my tester for this new change and trying it out while in progress?

Hi. Xbox Series S owner…

First, thanks you for you and your teams/everyone working of this project… .that awesome and god tiers shaders

I copy the last Mega Bezel release on my Xbox Series S on Retroarch… and for PSP Emulator, that’s working (with maybe 1 minute of loading). I’m gonna trying for PS1 games… :hugs:

But i’m very happy that’s working now! (1080p screen here)

For N64 core, is any possibility to run shaders on Xbox Series X / S? When I use CRT Royal, nothing happen.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks, for your kind words, I’m sure everyone appreciates them as I do.

Thanks for reporting on your experience on XBOX Series S, it’s great to hear that it’s working!!!

If you feel like doing some more testing could you try the different types of preset and let me know how they are working? E.G. STD, ADV, SMOOTH-ADV, GLASS, SUPER-XBR

Hmm, this is weird, When you say Royale, do you mean CRT Royale from the shaders_slang/crt folder?

When you say nothing happens, do you mean that the shader doesn’t load, but N64 is still running?

If it crashes retroarch perhaps you are using some upscaling on N64? Have you tried it at native res?

Hi. is there a way to put glass effect? I don’t mean on the sides, I mean on top of the shader, like a real crt glass screen?

Yes, you an turn on the parameter:

[ TUBE GLASS STATIC REFLECTION IMAGE ]: / Use Tube Static Reflection Image

It will show a reflection image on top of the tube and game image

You can also try:

Presets\Variations\Tube-Effects__Night__ADV.slangp or Presets\Variations\Tube-Effects__Night__ADV.slangp

To see some more of the tube effects

Here it is with no tube effects

This is with tube glass highlight, the glass effect is just a texture, so you can supply your own reflection texture and have whatever kind of reflection you want to see. The default one is set up to be pretty subtle so it is less distracting

And with some tube diffuse color

And with Night Lighting

Just Testing… Now I can get fake scanlines… I didn’t know until now…

Yeah, if you are using the SMOOTH-ADV preset which has scalefx included you can increase the core res mult and then use fake scanlines and rolling scanlines to get an effect like a higher res image behind the rolling scanlines.

Newpixie-Clone__SMOOTH-ADV__GDV.slangp in the variations folder does something like this

How do I increase the core res mult? where can I find the option?

They are here:

If you are using the fake scanlines you can also just reduce it to 100 then increase the Fake scanline opacity

Here are some examples of different Res multiples

100% Multiple

300% Scanline direction multiplier

300% Scanline direction multiplier and 125% Opposite direction multiplier (Default for SMOOTH-ADV)

300% Scanline direction multiplier and 300% Opposite direction multiplier

One thing to note is that if you are using the rolling scanlines you may want to experiment with different mask types, some mask types result in a brightness pulsing effect that isn’t so nice.
