Menu popsup during game in mame 2003

Im still fine tuning things, but ihave used 2 different logitech gamepads. At random times the menu overlay pops up in the middle od the screen, like pressing the tab button? Its a difficult error to description to look up.

Im using a raspberry pi4 1gb.

Maybe its related to this. Its a combo of buttons that trigger the ra menu?

I discovered that it happens when i put too much pressure on the left analogue stick. Now i just have to locate where to turn it off.

In mame2003 and mame2003-plus the default hotkey for the mame-menu is TAB or L3 which is pressing the left analogue stick iirc.

You can change this in the mame-menu:
Input (general) -> Config Menu
