Metal Gear Solid broken in Mednafen_PSX_HW

I’m trying to play the game on core hardware, but the codec and cutscenes are broken, including the part where you enter the water, right at the beginning.

These problems occur to me both in the gl driver and in the vulkan driver. Has anyone had the same problem? Thank you.

This is a known issue with the GL renderer but the Vulkan renderer shouldn’t have them.

Hello, this problem has always occurred to me since the beginning of the vulcan, and before I had another pc, core i7 4770k and a GTX 970, I came to think that vulcan support for the drivers was bad at the time or Vulcan was premature. But now I downloaded the last release of mednafen and retroarch and the problem persists. Coming home I will install another retroarch and core mednafen psx with the original settings and try to open the iogo to see if it was not some configuration I did in the core that is affecting the game.

Make sure that PGXP Operation Mode in Options is set to Memory Only.

Crush, thanks for the reply, but I already did this, even now I downloaded a clean retroarch installation, and I downloaded only the core psx_hw, I did not change anything, so even the internal resolution was at 1x, I changed the driver to Vulkan, and I opened the game, and the problem persisted, then I was enabling each item and testing, then disabling each item and testing. I still changed the clock and I had some strange changes, I changed the clock to 70% and it looked like this:

EDIT: I’m going to download other isos for Metal Gear to test.

EDIT: Really frustrating, I downloaded the Japanese and European versions of the game and the error perciste. In Sftware mode it runs normally but I can not get the same image quality or speed. Sad that it’s the only problem game I have in my collection. Could it be hardware incompatibility? Here is the configuration of my notebook: Core i7 7700HQ 12GB DDR4 GTX 1070 8GB Note Asus GL702VS
