Missing Assets warning when loading certain mednafen cores on WiiU

Running Retroarch on WiiU, I get a “missing assets” warning when I load any of the mednafen PCE cores (mednafen_pce_fast_libretro_rpx, mednafen_pce_libretro_rpx, or mednafen_supergrafx_libretro.rpx). Other cores load fine with no warnings. Once the missing assets message comes up, the Retroarch menu (ozone) icons become scrambled. Other cores work fine. The messed-up menu icons go back to normal as soon as I load a non-mednafen core. My assets and cores are up-to-date. Any clues? It seems like something is broken with those cores on WiiU. Other than the message and the scrambled menu icons, they seem to work OK.

I can’t say for sure about your platform, but in Windows it usually means the assets are a different version than the binary. Updating the assets fixes it.

Thanks. I wish it was that simple. I ensure that my core binaries and asset collection match by downloading all of it together via a build package (RetroArch_rpx.7z) from buildbot.libretro.com.
