Naomi lightgun games using lightgun as input method does not work

Hello,

I’ve already opened an issue on the reicast repo on libretro github, but will open it here to as it could be a problem on my end and other people can test and correct me if I’m wrong.

I don’t know when this isue appeared, but since some versions ago (it’s happening with latest build and also with a build from 21st april), any naomi lightgun game on reicast core doesn’t work when using Lightgun as input method.

When using gamepad as input method everything works fine, but of course then the aiming is controlled via leftjoystick, which is terrible for a lightgun game. I play these lightgun games using a mouse (well not really, I’m using a DS4 using gyros to emulate mouse input), and now it’s impossible. I’ve done a lot of tests, tried a clean install, removed my eeprom data and tried recalibration. Tried also with latest retroarch build from today, always same result.

Apparently, the gun trigger works but aiming doesn’t. If I enter maze of kings’ service menu, when in gun calibration screen, no matter what am I aiming at, it always give the value “80H”.

Tested this with Lupin Shooting and confidential mission, too. It happens with any naomi lightgun game.

Greetings.

Same issue here. I’d also like to add that Naomi games no longer seem to recognize any keyboard inputs (e.g. Lupin The Typing, Typing of the Dead) either. Could be something wrong with alternate (non-gamepad) controllers for Naomi? Both lightgun and keyboard controller settings still work fine for Dreamcast games (tested with DC versions of Typing of the Dead and Confidential Mission), so this is solely a Naomi issue.

Hi @Rheph , you’ll be happy to know flyinghead just fixed the issue yesterday, for both keyboard and lightgun inputs on naomi. I’ve tested it and works. Please update your reicast core from RA and retest the keyboard games (I’ve only tested lightgun games).

Greetings.
