Hello everyone so ive been messing with my cores lately and checking out the light gun games and my wish is to play these Light gun games via mouse i recently saw a emumovies video of a guy playing duckhunt and it had a crosshair like the one in the DS Core and it appeared he was using his mouse just by the movement

I Have figured out how to set light gun / zapper in The Genesis plus GX and other systems

But i cant for the life of me find it in Nestopia UAE the wiki says it has lightgun support With mouse etc but when i go into options even with a lightgun game loaded i cannot find the setting to change it to lightgun or mouse the only option i get is Retropad / Retropad with analog.

Has it temporarily been taken out? is there another nes core that it works in?

Just trying to finish the final touchs on my setup lol

You need NstDatabase.xml in your ‘system’ directory and then it will autodetect when a lightgun game is launched: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/rdanbrook/nestopia/master/NstDatabase.xml

Although what hunterk said works for getting RetroArch/Nestopia to recognize the mouse-enabled content, mouse support is completely broken, at least in Windows. The crosshair doesn’t go any lower than the top 10% of the screen for whatever reason, and its movement is extremely misaligned with my normal cursor’s movement. Is it the same for you? It seems more testing is necessary.

Ya the mouse speed and sensitivity was extremely high when my default is not so i downloaded Nestopia 1.40 to use till it can be adjusted / fixed with an option

For me the cursor is stuck to the left border of the screen, moving only vertically. That’s not playable.
