New PPSSPP core doesn't work

I updated to the new core and now whenever i try to launch an iso i get a “failed to open libretro core” message. This happens with all of my games.

I also updated the system files but it’s no good. Is this supposed to work? I don’t know what else to config.

The games are working here, but changing internal or output resolution doesn’t do anything, even after restarting.

I guess this must be brand new because I totally missed this (no information on the Libretro page yet), wow so it’s finally here then!?

You’re guess is as good as mine at this point, it’s brand new and could not yet be ready for the public and that’s why it doesn’t work.

What does the logs tell you?

There was another update, this one works so nevermind.

Doesn’t read the memory cards though but i guess it’s still early for that

core was 1st confirmed tested on windows 64 systems, in using linux(from online updater) version and it works here

Ok it was my fault, i had to copy the save files to the “saves” directory in RetroArch instead of the “system/PPSSPP” directory, like how the older PSP core needed.

However, now it reads the memory card but it says “the data is damaged”. And when i delete them to make new ones it says “insufficient memory space”.

I just copy my files from the standalone PPSSPP folder. I’m using Windows 7 64bit.

i dont know, probably the savefile from older version is now not compatible. there has been big update since 1.01. start with new save file i gues(delete old one or move it)

If i delete the actual memory card files it says “memory card not present” and doesn’t create new ones.

If i copy the memory card files it reads the memory card but it says the data is damaged.

If i copy the memory card files and delete the save files within them to make new ones it says insufficient memory space.

So whatever i do i can’t use the old saves or make new ones. Also, i use files from version 1.4.2 standalone which seems to be the same version as the new core? I don’t know, it says “1.4.2 Wip” when i press F1 so i assumed it’s the same version.

i was actually suggesting to delete the savefile physically from the retroarch/saves folder. not using the ingame delete stuff.

Like i said, i tried this too and it doesn’t create new files.

Sorry if i wasn’t obvious, english is not my native language.

The games i’m testing are Outrun 2000 and Little Big Planet. Both have the same issue, i don’t know if it’s game dependent.

probably game related, as i dont have issue with Castlevania Chronicles and Ys VII

EDIT (No. 4)

Seems I forgot to make a PPSSPP folder in the systems directory, instead I just put all assets in the systems directory which caused my problems.

Every game works perfectly now, however shaders works sporadically and certainly not in fullscreen.

I was told that this is going to support cheat codes does this support cheat codes?

I get “Failed to load content” and “This core requires a content file” I am not sure what this is supposed to mean. Are my roms wrong? I have just ISO files, do I need cue files? I am on Linux x64, retroarch 1.6.7 and ppsspp git core

probably not a psp rom

The rom works on windows PPSSPP standalone.

Do you have the required files on the System folder?

To check:

  • Load Core > PPSSPP
  • Information > Core Information > Firmwares

ppge_atlas.zim needs to be placed on the system folder.

Did anyone else noticed a strange dithering pattern on the new core?

The first screenshot is from 1.0.1, the second one from the new core (1.4.2). It seems the newer core has a lower color depth.

Both are on GL video driver and the settings are the same, as far as i remember

Thanks, it really was that I needed to put the ppge file out of the PPSSPP folder. Thanks again
