Going from say, Batsugun (loud) to The Punisher (quiet) is pretty annoying. Is there a way to set game volume? When i was using the MAME core, the TAB menu slider controls did nothing at all. I’m using FBNeo now and i don’t see any options.
Cheers.

Some arcades have their volume controls in their service menu (F2). I’m sure many midway games like Mortal Kombat and NBA JAM have those because by default they are dead silent and that’s how i fixed them. Not sure about other games though.
Thanks i’ll check out F2. Is that FBNeo or MAME?
For FBNeo you need to assign a shortcut for “diagnostic input” in core options.
Alright, thanks

I changed RetroArch’s Audio/Volume Gain setting for games that were too loud or too quiet and saved per game overrides. In MAME I would instead use the Speaker settings in the Tab menu under Slider Controls.
How does one do that? I have the main volume gain at around -6 for all of RA. Would it be as simple as booting a game, pressing home, going main options, setting the volume, back to game options and save game settings? I haven’t messed around with those kinds of setting yet.
The MAME sliders did exactly nothing for me. I was using the 2016 core. Prefer to use FBNeo now due to achievements anyways.
Yeah, using the “Save Game Overrides” option after changing the volume to what you want for that game.
I never tried adjusting the volume in MAME’s settings for Midway games, so maybe they’re different. I know I set the qsound volume to 2.00 for CPS2 games and it doubled it like expected. Even many years ago in stand alone MAME. But yeah, I prefer to use FBN for games it supports now too for simplicity and better integration with libretro.
