It’s still quite sharp where it needs to be. That’s why Blargg’s filters look good, IMO. NES “feels right” with ntsc emulation. I use rgb for everything else.

Ye, that edge correction guest added to sharpness settings really altered how the sharpness worked.
Yeah I find that higher sharpness settings can cut things off in an awkward-looking way, especially when using shadow masks. I think higher sharpness looks more natural when using aperture grilles. Kinda makes sense, they were sharper IRL.
Just having some fun atm., also pleased with some new functionalities, including those for the high-res content.

I think it’s about as realistic as one can get at 1080p, I try to consider the phosphor triad shape and the number of phosphor triads per scanline as seen on a typical slot mask TV.

Yeah for whatever reason 8-bit systems just feel right with composite video emulation (NES, Master System, C64, etc).

PSX core settings are 3x internal resolution and xBR texture filtering.
Yay, got it. On a down side Brlargg’s composite filter produce visible pixel shimmering/crawling for me on Messen core. It didnt happens on Genesis Plus GX core though.
Dot crawl was definitely a thing with composite video, so it might be intentional.
Could also be incorrectly scaled afaik.
This stuff is a crapshoot to troubleshoot XD (one minor thing can alter things in very subtle but noticable way.)
Well, Ive teste multiple scaling options and leaning towards that pixel crawling is a feature of composite filter - may be thats why shaders like newpixie trying to imitate moving scanline effect.
