Pokemon Snap

I’m only just getting used to this “emulator”, so if I’m missing something feel free to point it out.

Anyway, Pokemon Snap is a game that is plagued with issues “out of the box” for pretty much every emulation option out there.

These being - a. The camera’s “red dot” does not activate when aimed at a pokemon, making the late-game unbeatable due to a few specific options and b. More significantly, there is a framebuffer issue that, on the post-level screen, both makes all photos taken to appear complete gibberish, and also not even be selectable (Oak’s Mark is greyed out). This may actually be two separate issues, I’m no expert. Regardless, the significance is it means only one level of the game is ever playable.

There are fixes for these that involve either altering some graphics plugin options or entering cheat codes or both, depending on which emulator and who you ask.

Unfortunately, Retroarch’s streamlined interface seems to lock out the more specific or advanced graphics options, as well as no setting for game-specific fixes as far as I can see, as well as locking it to the only available emulation core option, Mupen64+. This may be my own user ineptness as I learn the ropes of this thing, though.

So I guess my question boils down to this:

Is there any available combination of settings or options that will make Pokemon Snap ‘work’? Specifically, on the Windows edition.
