Hi,
Just wanted to report that the latest nightly builds of the Reicast cores are not working on the Windows 64-bit version of RetroArch. Issue affects both regular Reicast and Reicast OIT.
Even trying to simply load any of the Reicast cores without any games causes RetroArch to freeze. I must open the Task Manager and force RA to close as it stops responding. Reicast was working before I decided to update the cores yesterday (I had updated them previously less than a week ago, on 2018.07.27, and Reicast cores from this update were working fine).
Solutions I’ve tried:
-
Enabling hardware shared context - same behavior
-
Fresh RetroArch 1.7.3 stable install - same behavior
-
Fresh install of RetroArch latest nightly build - same behavior
-
Downloading the core manually through my browser from the buildbot repo and unpacking it in the cores directory - same behavior
-
Running the debug executable from the command line with logfile and verbose output enabled - same behavior. Logs and console messages don’t show any errors or anything useful since RetroArch freezes completely the instant it tries loading the core, before any logging on the matter is done.
Btw, before anyone asks, of course I’m using the gl video driver.
Like I said, my previous Reicast builds from less than a week ago were working without any issues. Sadly, AFAIK previous core builds aren’t stored in the repository, and I didn’t do a backup before updating (never had problems of this magnitude with core updates before… learned my lesson I guess), so now I’m stuck.
If someone has a recent working build of the Reicast and Reicast OIT Windows x64 cores, would be much appreciated if you could upload them somewhere for us. (I actually have an older version archived, and it’s working, but it’s from november 2017… was looking for something more recent).
And here’s the lesson I learned, guys - always backup your cores before updating!
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.
