New ps3 builds available (nightly 2016-10-06):

Dex ps3 build https://mega.nz/#!JEp2mYpa!1oulp56wZ7uTD3_CWx8u2p1ZJqQuD0PlfznvMKYssn8 Cex ps3 build https://mega.nz/#!YNRHkbTK!rdf4mWJ0NNdWVsMSbDeEQ9ZJ3dQYd3chC_DzVncELc0 Ode ps3 build https://mega.nz/#!BYpi1TCA!HUk9ZNQpQpS6LxZ9kL5QmUUvIpHml_KlfqYHrsCw1P8

There’s a bunch of improvements than the previous build, so here it’s a changelog including some of them:

 • 2 new cores available, 2048 and 81
 • per core configs aren’t longer supported (removed)
 • save override game and save override core are now on the main menu
 • utf-8 support for the language
 • better cfw compatibility
 • new feature ‘remove from playlist’
 • new features ‘hide tabs’ and ‘hide advanced settings’
 • renamed some cores such as snes9x and fbalpha
 • prosystem now supports all the commercial available roms
 • fixed savestates for snes9x2010
 • added downloads folder, it includes freeware and shareware contents: cave story, doom, quake
 • experimental ps3 ode build: savestates, savefiles, playlists, configs, bios, remaps now should work
 • netplay is now on the main menu and it’s working: you can play online with a friend
 • updated assets, cores, database, info files
 • updated some translations

If you get troubles when you install it over a previous build, you could need to delete your config file, otherwise do a clean installation.

The update is recommended, enjoy.

Hi Ezio_PS,

that is wonderfull. I tried the ODE Build. The dev_usb1 is now available and i can choose a game for a core from usb stick. But when i will load a game with a core, a get only a black screen and after some seconds i got the menu of Retrorach back. I test different cores with the same result. It looks like the startup process from retroarch isn`t able to open a core with a selected rom on the ode build.

What can i do ?

Greetings,

Elektrolyt

@Traace i’ll do a test asap

@Elektrolyt Try to re-do the iso removing the retroarch.cfg i put into the iso and let me know if it fixed the issue

Thanks, very appreciated, waiting for your report.

I’m getting a black screen with the CEX version on rebug 4.80 when trying to open a rom in MAME or FBA. Tried multiple roms. SNES games work fine. Anything I can try ?

Thanks a lot for the effort and working on a ps3 version
Hi guys, i tried two cores with NTSC and PAL Roms now (snes, gba) and they have some kinda noisy sound, it is a bit shuttering. Even when i have no savestate or stuff loaded. The configuration is stock. Is that a normal behavoir on the current builds? I’m just into retroarch since Ezio_PS latest builds.

I’m running latest build on 4.80.1 rebug cex.
I had a bit of time to test, no difference between hdmi and rgba (scart). I noticed the issues you’re complaining on vbanext (gba), while snes seems to work fine (i tested donkey kong 2).

FBA works fine for me, which roms are you trying to run?

I tried raiden2, raidendx and some metal slugs.

Hola cidghi,

game boy advance core (aka vba_next) is broken on the nightly 2016-10-06, I noticed it this afternoon and i fixed it, here is a new nightly (2016-10-22) with that core working.

Muchas Gracias, ya funcionan bien los juegos de gameboy advance. Solo espero que pronto puedas hacer funcionar los codigos del codebraker, asi como funcionan los de game genie para el NES, el SNES y el Genesis. Saludos.

I’m not sure but maybe some cheat works, at least i heard something similar some time ago, not all though. I hadn’t time to test them, but it could be worth trying to check which cheats are currently working.

Are most cg/cgp shaders supposed to work on the PS3 version?

For some reason some of the presets do nothing when loaded, just sends me back to the main shader menu with the previously loaded shader. Loading the cg passes individually also seems to do nothing, atleast for NTSC.

Here are the ones that work: caligari cgwg fast geom hyllian 3d hyllian fast hyllian multipass (looks wrong though) interlaced halation

Don’t work: easymode halation easymode hyllian glow lottes (all) royale (all) crtglow (all) dotmask gtu (all) ntsc shaders (all)

Also, is there a way to configure CPU filters? Composite doesn’t seem to blur enough to blend dithering. Maybe by editting the source but I have no idea of how to compile them for ps3 nor do I know where to find the source.

They should work but, with the exception of Hyllian’s shaders (xBR et al), none of them were specifically tested on PS3, so it’s very possible they have some specific quirks that cause issues. If you can get logs of the errors, I can take a look. I don’t know how/if logging/debugging is done on PS3, though.

Same here, I tried messing around with the logging settings but I couldn’t find any logs.

Hi Ezio - two more homebrew updates for the prosystem source database.c file:

[59ca19c4b024fdfcd25b75ac836c7749] title=Double Dragon (Sprite & Color Hack RC7) type=6 pokey=false controller1=1 controller2=1 region=0 flags=0

[4fc0b16e3a5c463790a04fb42a1e4c40] title=Kung Fu Master (RC2) type=0 pokey=false controller1=1 controller2=1 region=0 flags=2

EDIT: Never mind, I added them on the GIT myself.

@NTSC_LUV to debug on ps3 isn’t easy, the only mean we have is using printf lol. You need a ps3 cable, a pc software and the ps3 in system software mode (debug cfw). I can try to debug a shader not working in order to see if i get any log asap, but it won’t be so soon since i’m pretty busy in these days. Ah forgot, i use pal system, not ntsc.

@underball nice!

Thanks for your time  I appreciate your work

Hi Ezio_PS,

i use the latest ode build for the ps3. Is it possible to configure the gui by the retroarch.cfg from the menue ?

I did 2 different tests:

 1. I made an iso without a configuationfile but then i’am not able to load or save a configuration because i can’t choose an external directory from the menue where a config could be avaiable.
 2. When i put a configurationfile into the iso, the gui can load the file during the startup but i’am not able to change and save the configuration. It looks like when i’am able to select a configration file from the gui, retroarch loads them in the background, restarts again and chose then the existing configurationfile from the iso.

Maybe i did a wrong configuration in the file, is there a discription for the options ?

Maybe a solution when it’s not possible: Is it possible to put a dummy configuration file into the iso that is potinting to an external configurationfile with writeaccess that will be at least loaded during the startup of retroarch ?

Greetings,

Elektrolyt

Hi Elektrolyt,

yeah, there’s already a retroarch.cfg file included into the iso that is pointing to usb 01, you can browse the chosen directories on a pc too. How is the ode build going? Is it good enough? Let me know…

Hi, is the latest build supposed to include the Collections feature, please? I tried scanning some directories, but nothing seems to happen. Thanks!

Scan and download features aren’t working yet, i tried to fix them but no luck. :frowning:

I hope it can be fixed in the next future.
