RetroArch iOS release (v1.0.0.1)

You’d have to ask Darkbanhammer - I know next to nothing about jailbreaking iOS stuff prior to 6.1.2 - I bought my first iPad only a few months ago and upgraded immediately to 6.1.2 since I knew I could still jailbreak it and 6.1.3 wasn’t yet out back then.[/quote]

it seems Darkbanhammer was thinking of the greenpoison jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1: http://www.iphonehacks.com/2011/02/greenpois0n-rc6-untethered-jailbreak-for-ios-4-2-1-now-supports-apple-tv-2g-fixes-emulator-issues.html as there’s no information or reports about any dynarec JIT problems on iOS 5.1.1 Absinthe jailbreak. The dynarec option seems to work for me on PPSSPP, at least it doesnt crash, but i cant see any noticeable speedup though.[/quote]

you don’t see a speed up cause its not working. Its supposed to give a BIG performance boost making it perfectly playable

Edit and I didn’t get it mixed up. They did screw it up again.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking of as well.

Hey guys.

Is it possible to play multiplayer (lets say tekken 3) with 2 ps3 controller on one device?

I dont own a jailbroken device, yet-

It should be now as of version 0.9.9.3.

There is also now a core option in PCSX ReARMed to toggle between ‘Dual Shock’ and ‘regular gamepad’ mode.

Version 0.9.9.3 - June 28, 2013

  • [iOS] Fixed input issues -
    • Rewrite of BTStack code
    • Multiple gamepad support
    • More reliable syncing/pairing
    • Cleanup of L2CAP commands
    • Stop Wiimote inquiry loops while game is running, fixes horrible lag
  • [iOS] Add a ‘TV Mode’ option which forgoes the Cocoa file browser for RGUI. NOTE: You might have trouble launching PS1 games from this mode if they are the first ROM/ISO you load.
  • [iOS] Shaders should work now. Note - for best results - set Scale to 1x per shader pass. Quite a few shaders are fullspeed from iPad 2 and up - your mileage may vary depending on the device.
  • [GENERAL] Should fix GPU screenshots if last frame was duped
  • [PCSX ReARMed] Add core option to switch between Dual Shock and regular gamepad modes
  • [TyrQuake] Add core option so that you can change the internal screen resolution (note that TyrQuake uses the software renderer - it is slow - an OpenGL ES option will be added in the future for mobile devices and others)
  • [TyrQuake] For RetroArch ports that support RETRO_KEYBOARD and RETRO_MOUSE - mouse/keyboard controls should work now
  • [Genesis Plus GX] Updated to the latest version - 1.7.4 -
  • [MAME 2003] ‘game might not run correctly. Press any key to continue’ games can be run now - such as Tekken 2
  • [MAME 2003] Correct resolutions for Namco System 11 games
  • [MAME 2003] Some minor optimizations (very slight though)

Can be downloaded from our repo at themaister.net/cydia. Will push an update to ZodTTD as well.

Shaders perform better than expected. If you set shaders to 1x scale - you can run 3-pass shader stacking configurations like oldtvshader, 4xsoft and sharpen shaders at fullspeed (on an iPad 2/Mini).

I can recommend mudlord’s oldtvshader-variant4 - runs at fullspeed on my iPad 2 at 1x scale - can even stack some other shaders on top of it and still get fullspeed -

I dunno why that shader gets neglected BTW - it’s easily one of the better TV shaders I’ve seen and it does some stuff right that the others don’t in terms of color vibrancy.

It should be now as of version 0.9.9.3.[/quote]

awesome! what about wii remote (+ nunchuck?) and ps3 for tekken 3? player 1 wiimote and player 2 ps3 (or the other way around)

I already tested that and it works. You just need to set up the controls right - but if you use the Global Config for all cores then you only need to set it up once like that

Hi thank you for the help with my save problem, I got the my games to save now! As of the new update, I am having no success connecting my Ipega Bluetooth controller. Could someone help me here? Thanks! It was working fine in the previous version. EDIT: I finally got it to work! Awesome! The right analog stick still doesn’t function, don’t know what the deal is with that. Thanks so much!

wow. getting ipad next week =) can you say something about n64? this year? in the next 2 months? :stuck_out_tongue:

Meancoot is working on the N64 core and therefore he would know best. If he feels like it he could provide you with some commentary on how it’s going.

I tried using this to restore the jailbreak using redsn0w - no luck.

I get an error message that says the following:

“It seems the APTicket flashed on the device cannot be re-used for this hack. If the current firmware was installed via an OTA update or at the factory, its APTicket contains the wrong data for this to work.”

If anyone else tried this and got stuck in the Recovery Mode Loop caused by the restore error, redsnow has a fix built into it to get out of the loop.

Searched the internets for a while to see if there was any workaround to restore my jailbreak from 5.1.1 to 5.1.1. No luck so far. I may just have to wait until the release and jailbreak of iOS 7.

If anyone is having the same issue and finds a fix, I’d love to hear it

Ug this is what happens when you ota update and not restore when a jailbreak comes out…

Some one Could create a app to patch the system to fix your issue but anyone who knows enough about this wouldn’t care enough to do it. You are stuck buddy :frowning:

Wow, the N64 Emulator should be the perfect thing to RetroArch ! Keep going, you’re doing an amazing job !

You most likely need to put the real BIOS file inside ~/Documents/.RetroArch to get those games to save right.[/quote]

Not a bios problem, mate. It just detects the memory card as being a different one, and refuses to save.

After downloading 0.9.9.3 my ps3 controller started acting weird .It was working fine with the previous version of retroarch ios. It still connects to my ipad2 and ? select sixaxis controller from the menu but when i press down on d-pad it goes left when i pres right it goes down .? checked the button configurations they are all looking normal and ps3 controller works fine with other stuff like blutrol it only does it when i try to play something on retroarch is there a way to fix it ?

The button definitions probably changed and the ‘control map scheme’ in RGUI didn’t get updated by me yet (and BTW - we want to make it so that there is an ‘Autodetect’ option we can turn on - as soon as a pad is detected then, and if that option is enabled, it will apply the button mapping - just a note for future reference here).

As for what you can do right now, remap the controls again with the Cocoa user interface per button and it should be fine.

I have reconfigured again and got the d-pad buttons to work but my analogue sticks are still not working it configures all the buttons in the menu but in game only dpad works and the x button of my ps3 controller also dont respond my controller is an official sony controller and works for everything except retroarch’s latest version the version before this one everything was working well anyway man ?'m looking forward to that auto detect stuff .

I’ve updated RetroArch to the latest version on my iPad and I’m still having trouble getting my PS3 controller to connect. At the ROM selection screen, if I try to connect my controller, the LEDs flash rapidly and the Bluetooth icon appears in the statusbar but after a little while, the LEDs stop entirely and the icon disappears. Looking at the diagnostics log, I see that RetroArch has indeed found the controller but it disconnects it.

Here’s a screenshot of the log: http://i.imgur.com/YXecQ4F.png

Would anyone know what the problem might be?
