I think 7.0 is the most hyped I’ve been for an update. Don’t really care for features. I’m really looking forward to these emu’s using the new IOS controllers and thinking we will finally see some more small snap on controllers hit the market. I really don’t like what’s out there as far as dual analog ones.
Hasn’t this been said when iOS 6 came along?
Anyway.can you guys already tell if retroarch will run on iOS 7?

Well, the latest iPhone unveiling event is on the tenth of september so we shouldn’t be waiting very long for the latest jailbreak either way!
Of the confirmed features, I think airdrop and official controller support are the best (shame I won’t receive airdrop though as I have a 4S), but with controller support I believe we’re gonna see mobile gaming explode.
It’s gonna be exciting.
All i want now is to Play OOT on my iPad.
I have OOT on my 3DS. And I don’t mind paying for portable releases. When PSPgo first came out I bought and played a lot of PSX games. Final Fantasy, Theme Hospital, Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross. A lot of good games came out on PSN. The problem is, PSOne releases halted, and there will never be a complete collection of my favorite games. For example, Beyond the Beyond, Megaman Legends, King’s Field II, all those games would never have come out on PSN for play on PSPgo. But I am now playing them (and on my ipod5 to boot) thanks to Retroarch.
My philosophy, support developers when you can, resort to emulation when there is no alternative.
So. You are saying there is no need for n64 core because you have oot on 3ds…?
Does the RAM cart option work for Sega CD games on Genesis Plus GX? I saved a Sega CD game (in game) and when completely exiting and re-entering there is no save data. I prefer that over save states as it feels more real.
Just tested out retroarch with street fighter third strike, fight for the future (arcade) and it works beautifully. Had to create a .zip file and manually add the required .CHD file to make the game work, (you’re required to carry out this step on any version of MAME though).
It works great and with full speed too. Had to use the arcade FBA core as the MAME 2003 core crashes. So adding .CHD files to the iOS version of this wonderful emulator appears to be fully supported.
You’ve done a great job devs, truly a great job.
I just tested the save-state feature, exited the app, restarted the ROM and hit the load-state icon and the game loaded right up from where I saved it.

That works for me too, but I was talking about using in game saving using in game prompts (as if you were playing the real game). It works for other emulators I’ve played like SNES and genesis. But for genesis plus gx if I come back to the game later, the save game is just not there. what I’m looking for is the ability to create a .srm file instead of a .state file. Which the sega CD emulators don’t appear to do with this retroarch. I look in the .retroarch file and it even has some playstation .srm’s of games I’ve played but no sega cd srm’s and I’m wondering if there is an option I have to set.

Ah right. I’ll test mine and let you.
I’ve been testing mine out on popful mail. remembering how much gold I have when I exit completely. Last time I just used the in game save but did not save state. Then when I reloaded the game as you normally would on a sega CD I had the NEW larger amount of gold, even though I didn’t save the state again before I exited. I have a save state on state “0”. But it doesn’t create an .srm file in my folders so I am confused. Is the game now using the .state file in it’s place? The only files I have in .retroarch folder in directories that could be related to this save is popful mail.state and cart.brm <-- I initially thought this was where the save file is but cart.brm was present the first time I restarted my game with the save file NOT being present.

Thanks for the confirmation. I will continue my search:)
Can you give us an status update on n64?
It could be a number of things, you might have a bad rom file or maybe you haven’t added the correct neo geo bios files to the emulators home directory?
I test my new roms on a PC first, that way the emulator you’re using in windows will tell you which files are missing from the ROM if the game fails to boot properly!
I’m playing neo games perfectly on my 4S with the arcade FBA (final burn alpha) core.
