It could be a number of things, you might have a bad rom file or maybe you haven’t added the correct neo geo bios files to the emulators home directory?

I test my new roms on a PC first, that way the emulator you’re using in windows will tell you which files are missing from the ROM if the game fails to boot properly!

Just stating that your iPad closes doesn’t provide us with enough information to help you with!

Does it crash with every playstation game you’ve tried or just metal slug only, can you successfully run a 32X game through the picodrive core?

Do any of the other cores work at all with other games?

Is your iPad running iOS 6?

yes,i tried several games but it keeps rebooting everytime i use psx core, i have 6.0.1 untethered i guess the psx emulator was not compatible for ipad 4 yet

Do any of the other cores work, you should attempt to run a few genesis and snes games through the other cores then report back! You definitely need to run a 32X game through the picodrive core and see if it works?

Tekken 2 does not run full speed on the 4s. Everything else I have tried does:)

only psx cores does’nt work which is the sole reason why i download this …even psx4all not working in my ipad .

Have the same issue as all owners of iOS 6.0.1. iPad 4 reboots when I try to run PSX games.

Ipad 4 running 6.1.2 works with all cores, no problems

did you play smoothly using the pcsx rearmed?? if that so… i will manually update my ipad to 6.1.2

Yes, very smoothly. Do you have your bios files in the right location? 6.1.3 should also work, but i dont know how you’ll get apple to sign your restore on that one :confused:

i did all the right tutorial … but failed to work… dont worry i have all the firmware, i can change to watever version of ios as i wish =D

I have already tried to change my number of firmware by iFile. But it obvious (Nicolas Cage meme) doesn’t work. And more, on many russian forums there a problem with 6.0.1 too. So it isn’t a local problem of some people, but all, who has a 6.0.1 firmware, faced with a psx core problem. It’s pity.

As I’ve advised other posters to do (without success I might add)…

Are you able to successfully run any other games on the different cores? If you are, you should also attempt to run a 32X game through the picodrive core. If you’re able to successfully run a 32X game through the picodrive core then we can probably rule out a possible dynarec problem?

Picodrive core works succsesfully, and the rest of the cores except the psx one are work too.

Did you try the picodrive core with a 32X, sega CD or genesis game? You need to use a 32X game to see if there’s a problem with dynarec?

For instance I can run genesis and sega CD games fine with the picodrive core, but if I attempt to load a 32X game through picodrive it crashes the emulator as I’m unable to run dynarec on my device as it seems there’s a problem with iOS 5 jailbreaks (I’m on iOS 5.1.1)!

Just played Virtua Fighter (32X) (E) [!].32x through picodrive core. It works. I dunno, but maybe developers should take a note about this problem and in the next releases they will fix it. It refers only to 6.0.1 firmware.

That is strange then…

Do you know if the game in question is definitely a working ISO? I tried a few games that I downloaded off the net for use on my PC’s PS1 emulator and several of them wouldn’t work, so instead I ripped my own copies from the original discs (I have them all from my old PS1 console) and they worked properly.

There are a lot of games on the net that are bad/non working rips!

Failing that, then maybe there are still a few compatibility issues that the devs will hopefully resolve, maybe after iOS 7 drops officially we’ll get another update (fingers crossed)?

I sure hope in the next update the problem will be gone, because this isn’t the roms issue. I have them working on the psx4all and PC’s epsxe. So, devs, please, pay attention on this and do something.

Of course, I can play on psx4all but only on 3.0.0 ver. and it has some display tearing. I saw on youtube the work of RetroArch and that was awesome. I liked it. But… only because of 6.0.1 I can’t play only on psx core. It’s frustrating.

There is nothing we can do about it. short of you sending a phone/tablet with such an outdated OS on it.

Both my iPads are on iOS version 6.1.2 and they are using the evasi0n jailbreak.
