RetroArch PC releases

Can you try downloading them here?

http://www.libretro.com/index.php/downloads/

Yep, just tried that, all it says is “starting” and still yields an incomplete download with 0 KB  The Wii download worked fine, but for some reason it’s freaking out with the Windows build.

I downloaded this one yesterday http://www4.zippyshare.com/v/67771027/file.html and it works fine, but I don’t know if that one’s one I should be using as it’s 55 MB versus the other which is 36 MB.

Are you using a download manager or something? I just tried all of them and they work… (as in you can download them all)

Nope, just using Chrome to download.

Edit 2: Got it to download, now it’s freaking out with 7-zip, telling me it cannot be opened. Tried opening it from download, that didn’t work either. No matter if it’s the 32 or 64-bit packs, neither of them will open…the Wii app was a normal .zip file and it opened fine, so it’s not my end. Windows is telling me the 7zips are corrupted. Which is odd because other 7zip files extract just fine.

Edit 3: Nope, WinZip doesn’t work either, both tell me it’s an invalid file. Either they’re corrupted or not downloading all the way. The link http://www4.zippyshare.com/v/67771027/file.html works fine, though I don’t know why it’s bigger than the one on the download page.

Hi, I have a major problem with the new RetroArch megapack 20140103 32-bit under winxp. My GC is a Radeon 4670 using catalyst 12.1

It used to work perfectly with the previous 20131013 32-bit version but now it crashes at start. :’( I get these error messages :

GL:invalid value Cannot open the video driver … Exiting … Fatal error reveived in : “init_video_input()”

Any Idea ? Does anyone have the same problem ? Thanks

good to know I’m not the only one when running the beta builds

The win64 official build downloaded but 7zip cannot open it :frowning:

The latest 64bit megapack is corrupted, hold on we’ll fix it… It’s been a hectic couple of days

How the crap did you extract the file? I got an error every time in 7zip.

The 32bit megapack is fine… it’s just the 64bit one that is corrupted. You need 7zip or peazip to extract 7z files

I have both WinZip and 7Zip, neither file is working for me at all :frowning: Dammit. Even the re-uploaded 32-bit pack, not working at all. They both give me errors. I don’t know if it’s my web browsers, it AV software is conflicting or what, but no matter what, the file simply refuses to open on 7Zip. Tried opening after download, same thing, “invalid file” for 32-bit version as well. I just wish someone had an already-extracted folders for download or something, so it wouldn’t have to be extracted.

Happens with 7zip too.

This link works though http://www4.zippyshare.com/v/67771027/file.html

Erase your cache I guess, I just tried them both and it’s working fine now even with download managers. Maybe you use a proxy? or something? filename didn’t change so it might be getting a cached result.

Damn…I’ll try it on another machine. I’ll flush the cache too. Not trying to doubt anyone, it’s just frustrating figuring out the issue … :frowning:

Edit: Bollocks, clearing the cache didn’t work. Firefox didn’t work. I’m seriously considering giving up on this damn thing.

I need a log. From command-line, run:

retroarch.exe -v --menu 2>log.txt

It’s probably the recently added GL_RGB565 support that is failing, even though I do check for its support first. You say you’re using the realllllly old Catalyst 12.1 (!), so you might want to update that as well …

I’ll add that I can’t open the 7z files either. I cannot open either the 32 or 64 bit megapacks in Winrar, 7zip, or izarc. I’ve cleared my cache and re-download and still same errors.

Okay, with the newly added RetroArch-2014105-Win64-megapack.zip as opposed to the 7zip format, it works perfectly fine

Ok, I tried repacking the 64-bit pack to a regular zip. Can you try that one?

Oh, that’s what I was talking about  the .zip worked perfectly whereas the 7zip format was causing issues. Not sure what was going on there, but .zip seems far more stable.

I will confirm as well, the zip is working fine for me. Thanks HunterK

Retroarch closes when I open it. Here is the log

Here’s my log I have no problem to extract the archives, tested both 32 and 64 bit i use 7 zip. Next i’ll test it with updated drivers but it’s not possible to have the most recent catalyst since my hardware is’nt supported anymore :stuck_out_tongue:
