Is there any chance you could use xerpi’s libsicksaxis?
I already tried that months ago and the performance was very bad - maister told me he did some things in his USB sourcecode which are not considered best practice - so that is most likely where the bad performance stems from.
Hello all! Decided to sign up and reply to say a few things.
First of all, a big THANK YOU to the devs of RetroArch Wii. Seriously, you guys are awesome.
Second, I agree with your ideas or philosophies, if you will… a simple GUI for maximizing performance, focusing on features that actually increase overall experience, core portability… It makes sense to me!
Third, I feel so bad the devs and the project got so much crap on other forums. I’ve been on different forums, on and off, for over a decade (the DreamCast was my catalyst…) and I couldn’t imagine saying anything bad to, well, anyone, let alone people putting so much work into such a product. Thank goodness you didn’t call it quits!
With that said, I just read all 19 pages of this thread so far, and wow… it’s alot, but informative. After reading, however, there were a few questions I still had.

Has the idea of Virtual RAM been explored any more? Maybe not internal flash memory, but rather a flash drive plugged into a USB 2.0 port? A good quality 4GB drive can be bought for $10 or less now, and the speed should be just as good or better than the internal SD card slot (which, I think, most people run apps from already anyway).

Is it possible to set up different configuration files for different games? If not, would it be likely to be implemented in a later release? I may like one button layout and image settings for some games, but find that other settings work better for other games. I haven’t figured out how to do this (per-game configuration) yet.

What categories or classifications of arcade games are likely to work if/when the MAME core is optimized for RetroArch Wii? I’m presuming older games (i.e. Pac-Man), but no System 11, Capcom ZN1, or the like.
Thank you devs, again, for your hard work and such an awesome program! I’ve tried games for a variety of platforms, and the only two I had issues with were:
- Kabuki Klash (NeoGeo): Would not load; may be a size issue (will check ROM size)
- X-Men (the old multiplayer arcade game by Konami): 4-player ROM ran fine in FBA core, but voices were really deep and slow
Man you saved me, I did not remember that neogeo.zip should be in my neogeo roms folder. Now I can play the 2 working roms for neogeo core in my gamecube. Thanks.
Edit: I tested another game, Panic Bomber, and it works, so maybe the place where I saw that just two roms worked was not so accurate. I´´ll keep researching with more little size roms.
I’ve managed to get my hands on a complete MAME 0.72 romset, just wated to make sure these will be compatible with the MAME core when it’s released. Are there any updates on the Wii build?
Works for me. Make sure syscard3.pce is placed in sd:/retroarch/system folder.[/quote]
Have I missed something with regards to a Wii setup? Where does the syscard3.pce file come from, and what’s it used for?
syscard3.pce is a bios file that is required to get PC Engine/Turbografx 16 Super CD games to work. You will have to search for the file online and place it in the folder mentioned above.
You don’t have to wait for a point release, I’m sure you can compile from source and check it out.
Na I don’t know how to do that, I’ll wait for the official release.

I got a short question and it’s a dumb one (Hence my handle). Is there anyway to play PC Engine CD games on a DVD using Retroarch? Yes, I maybe the only living soul who uses this medium but I’m on a horrible budget due to bills going up and never having any money to buy “happy” stuff anymore…Marriage does this too (which as you may guess, I’m married) I can’t afford any SD card currently but I have a stack of 20 DVD verbatim discs though. I am doubting my chances though on this. Thanks for anyone who can answer this.
Nope. If you have financial problems, what you have to do is not playing games at home, you should make money first. Just forget about games for now.

Hum, if that´s the case I would recomend you to move to Hugo GX until you improve your finances, it´s said that it has DVD support but do not spect too much about sound using super cd games.
DVD’/CD drive support for ROM/ISO loading is never going to happen. It’s slow and it’s unreliable - and it’s a pain to write drivers for it. Not worth it
Thanks for you honesty,Square Pusher. For the rest of you insensitive pricks you need to realize this is a tough economy. I have to work 2 PT jobs to make ends meet. I am trying my absolute best. My wife doesn’t work and there isn’t any jobs here that I am qualified for. I am going to school and I’ve been attending part time due to the 60+ hours I have to work to put clothes on my back, food on the table and house payments and mortgages. If only you’d realize how exhausted this man really is. Sorry that none of the basement dwellers can understand this, there fore I am just wasting my time. I don’t just SIT AROUND and play games. I barely have the time but I agree it would be nice to sit down and enjoy my collection for a change. One day maybe, one day.
Any chance of this getting bumped up to .9.9.3? Unfortunately I lack the skill to compile myself.
StupidGamer, are there no jobs your wife can take?
No sense hassling a guy over his lack of money.
In future releases could add cores for Nintendo64, psx and Nintendo ds?
How about no?
