RetroArch Wii/Gamecube Releases (v1.0.0.2)

Yeah, I understand. Personally I prefer to have all things separated, with nice forwarders poiting to them in my Wii channels.

Back in the first Xbox scene, I hated when the CoinOPS (MAME) dev started to make the emulator run all possible consoles and games. I kept using a old version just to avoid this.

I like things simple. No full romsets, no huge list of games, things like that. When I pick one game, I don’t need to change to another in the middle of them.

For me games are like books. I don’t read 5 books at same time.

I pick a game, play it until the end (or until get my objective done - like some high score) and that’s it. Maybe next day, or next week, I will start playing another.

Specially RPGs… FOCUS! Focus! Focus on the very game!

Ha ha ha! C.

Sure, but when my friend calls over for a few beers and to play some games, we don’t play RPGs! It’s Metal Slug, followed by Super Mario Kart, then Bomberman '94 on the PC Engine

Yeah, of course.

But I play alone. VERY small apartment, TV in front of our bed, things like that. My wife don’t feel comfy to bring people to our sleep room all the time.

So, when friend come it’s just for the beer and music, and food. Ha ha!

The videogames are ALL MINE! ALL MINE! No one touches them!

=P

A picture of my actual setup:

Panasonic 42 LCD with all the beauties that SLG-3000 Scanlines Generator can provide!

Cospefogo.

Nice!

Great you have got the forwarders sorted ( I remembered well it seems! ) And that SLG3000 in just mouth watering.

I wish Santa brought me this for Christmas.

Hey guys,

I will share my stand alone R.A. if someone is interested. Just need some time to make it.

Question:

How to enter on NeoGeo DIP Switches? I really really want to show blood (instead of milk) on the Metal Slug, Samurai Spirits and many other games. Damn censorship!

I tried to turn diagnostics = ON but nothing happens when I enter a game. Any ideas?

Regards, C.

It’s a bit flaky, more of a toggle than anything else, enable it and disable it a couple of times and restart the ROM.

I was getting this problem too, I just disabled the “Per Core Config” and now it store my custom resolution, it’s thesame resolution for every core but well… at least I don’t have a cropped image =P

Cospefogo, did you make those channels yourself? If so, did you animate them or just use customizemii and switch out backgrounds and icons?

I used CustomizeMii over the BASE1 WAD template that comes bundled in the program options. I have been re-building all my forwarders using this WAD as base.

I don’t like sound and fancy animations on forwarders. The original RA forwarder, in my opinion, has a very irritating sound.

So, all my custom channels are silent. =)

That’s what I thought, and yeah, I agree with you on the RA forwarder. While I’m very appreciative of the person who made it, I don’t really think it fits retroarch very well. It reminds me more of a street fighter app.

I tried messing around with CustomizeMii last night, but I didn’t realize that the animatiion required code editing, and I really couldn’t find a nice (or any tutorial, actually) tutorial on it. Since I do like sound and animation (when done well), it looks like my options are limited.

Edit: Well, I guess I didn’t look that hard. Found a nice tutorial on gbatemp. Cospefogo, do you mind posting one of your forwarders so that I can play around with it?

Be careful! The animation side, if made wrong, can brick your Wii!

I agree, although I only modified the icons to be conqruent with the new RA artwork. You could try to use an exsisting channel for a base and inject your premade forwarder dol. Change the images using a vector imige program and replace them using Customize me.

@cospefogo

Those are very nice forwarders. Can you share them with us

the downloads page hasn’t been updated as yet, so is there a delay?

Yeah, one of the devs will post here and update the topic name it it gets released.

We are second just behind the Android build, respect to replies and views =P

I have tested CPS1, CPS2 cores, etc DOLs work now, I can upload a test build with this updates if you like.

Thanks for offering it anyway
