RetroArch Wii/Gamecube Releases (v1.0.0.2)

I meant al FBA cores: FBA, CPS1, CPS2 and NEOGEO are working well.

OK, no problem. If anyone wants them just ask,

Oh in that case, I love to have the FBA core!

I second that!

Really u guys didnā€™t like the forwarder? I love it, it reminds me of walking into an arcade, itā€™s nostalgic and brings back so many good memories.

I like the visuals a lot. I just donā€™t appreciate the noisy background. I know that it reminds the good olā€™arcades, but for me, too noisy.

=)

Guys has anyone else had the same issue with latest TyrQuake core? It is really laggy compared to the butter smooth core in 0.9.9. Maybe it is cause it now supports resolutions up to 1024X768 in itsā€™ core options and we know that this is overkill for the Wii.

I also found out in the input options that zapper and lightgun controllers (e.g. Justifiers) are now emulated! Will the Wii builds suppport IR for this like SDL Mame did for arcade lightgun games as well as the NES, SNES and Genesis ones?

BTW,about forwarder channels, i personally use this one: https://anonfiles.com/file/fff9e2d7447d ā€¦ b0bb8d1332 it is prettier IMHO than the RA default one. It was originally made for SDL Mame Wii (by FIX94 IIRC), but i edited it to point to RA and it works like a charm.

If I could take out the street fighter image and change the music Iā€™d be perfectly ok with it. An easy fix using the current forwarder (for me, strictly speaking) would be to turn the street fighter image into an image of the invader, and switch the retroarch signage to one without the invader (so there arenā€™t two). Then change the music to something else. Is the art/design hosted anywhere?

For those who want lastest updates in Wii, here they are, but remember, itā€™s only for testing not official.

In other thoughts, @cospefogo which lines do you edit to point out to another CFG file in DOL on Hex Editing?, Iā€™d like to do it in gambatte in v0.9.9-fix, thatā€™s last stable release that Iā€™m using.

Hey, Askot!

Since I have installed separated R.A.s for each core, I hex-edited all occurrences of ā€œretroarch.cfgā€, ā€œsomething/retroarchā€ and things like that.

From retroarch.cfg to retro-gba.cfg, retro-pce.cfg and so on. But of course, in SD/APPS I also created the respective folders accordinglyā€¦

SD/APPS/RETRO-GBA SD/APPS/RETRO-PCE etc.

And, in the root (where the saves are stored, I did the same) SD/RETRO-GBA SD/RETRO-PCE etc

Thanks a lot, Iā€™ll try then.

The official one is a complete mess. Iā€™ll give this one a try, it couldnā€™t possible be worse than the 1.0.0

lol talk about exaggerating. The only issue is with the standalone FBA core really, which will be fixed very soon in the next official update. Far from a ā€œcomplete mess.ā€

Maybe youā€™re right, Sorry, poor choice of words. Funny thing is I donā€™t even use FBA core. The content I want is already there but since it wonā€™t let me map any controllers, I donā€™t have much of a use. Maybe in another release.

@icdeadppl If you want a better release, make an issue on github of every problem you encounter, that will help.

@cospefogo That help did the trick, thanks!!

Itā€™s not that serious man, other than the full FBA core and some manual tweaking that per core configs need, Iā€™d say 1.0.0 is fantastic. I need to try TyrQuake again to confirm some reports about some slight lag compared to 0.9.9 and thatā€™s it.

EDIT:Whoops ninjaā€™d  Is anybody else having issues mapping their buttons? Do you load a core and a game prior to attempting to change controls?

I use a CCP and for me everything just works out of the box. In 1.0.0 I havenā€™t even bothered configuring anything.

For me 1.0.0 is a fine release. A couple bugs here or there but theyā€™ll get ironed out over the next month or two.

People having issues with core-specific configs: Do this test.

  1. Load a core. Change some config without loading a game. Switch cores and switch back and see if the change saved.
  2. Load a core. Load a game in that core. Change some config while in game then switch cores and switch back and see if the changes saved.

I think I found a bug with it where the first scenario doesnā€™t work but the second does. Can anybody who was having issues confirm this for me?

Also, the default for new cores without configs is to use the configs from the last used core.

I am almost sure this was what happened to me here. When I did think everything was set, I started losing .CFGs after changing settings with some game loaded.

Has anyone noticed the CC controls in DOOM engine? When I enable the Dual aaolog controls, the player start running at full speed automaticly after touching the right control stick.

D- pad controls are fine.

1.0.0.1 was silently released. Letā€™s check the FBA core and per core config saves now. I hope we get a changelog in the future
