RetroArch Wii/Gamecube Releases (v1.0.0.2)

Agreed, we should create a new thread for bug reports etc. as they are just going to get lost in one big thread.

Hello all. I just downloaded RA v1.0.0.1 for Gamecube yesterday but I cannot test the cores because it has kind of auto load option that loads a non user specified rom once you enter to a folder with roms related to that core, is there a way to disable this option because I could not find it last night? The only cores that could test were NXEngine, that works well, and NGP wich seems controls are not working. Also could anyone see if can access to the in-game menu we had in 0.9.9.9, on real hardware or in GC mode through Wii? We need it in order to save our .cfg/.sav files.

Hey guys have a quick question. Are the latest FBA cores (Neo, Full) synced with FBA 0.2.97.29 or 0.2.97.28. So I know which roms to update in case some donā€™t work or something.

Up and down Will sometimes also hang. Sometimes the looping goes faster and faster, and sometimes the looping stops all by itsself. Akward, this has been a problem since RAā€™s initial release.
Yep, thought so that the patch would fix nothing.

FWIW, personally I have not encountered any control issues whatsoever (bar the dual analog issue in prboom latest core). But the controls are now better, due to auto detection of input method. One major gripe , as said again, is the default Wiimote button config.

Currently it is mapped as:wiimote 1 = RA A wiimote 2 = RA B wiimote B = RA X and wiimote A = RA Y Wiimote B should be set as RA Y button since in every single core, it is used far more than RA X button (which should be assigned to wiimote A).

P.S. Hilekenator you are right about NGP core, i reverted to 0.9.9. custom version by supersonic (with saved ratio, folder and resolution) for this one, works perfect.

Sadly no, thank you for pushing jacobians ā€˜fixā€™. Hopefully the ngp and doom controls will be fixed in the near future. Also I think this wasā€™nt answered before but, what is the reason for Quake to run at a lower fps last build?

ā€œwhat is the reason for Quake to run at a lower fps last build?ā€

According to ToadKing, Quake has lag because they changed the audio to ā€œno repeat samples when behindā€.

So someone else that does not experience the controller issue, I myself donā€™t get it either. Do you have a CCP or 1st gen CC with analog shoulder buttons. This might be an issue with the CC Pro only.

On another note, sorry I have to bump this as there is absolutely no changelog or readme for the latest Wii cores :frowning:

The CPS1 and CPS2 cores were also rolled back to FBA version 0.2.97.28 in the update from Retroarch version 1.0.0.0 to 1.0.0.1. Someone already pointed this out for the Neo Geo core as well.

This is going to be an issue because the FB Alpha core uses the 0.2.97.29 rom set. Itā€™s also an issue because the Neo Geo uni-bios support was dropped in the update from 1.0.0.0 to 1.0.0.1.

Can we please get an update that fixes these issues?

For the moment, Iā€™m going to use the version 1.0.0.0 CPS1, CPS2, and Neo Geo cores.

MassiveRican et al, please take a second and reply to my thread regarding the button sticking issue. Hopefully, it can help us figure out whether this is strictly a CCP problem only or whether it affects multiple controllers.

EDIT: Nevermind, I was able to recreate the issue on a basic wiimote, so I would wager it can be recreated on a regular classic controller too.

Square, if itā€™s any help, the only way I can get the bug to surface is to push the dpad pretty frantically. Maybe thereā€™s a certain combo of buttons pressed in a certain order that is causing the issue? Or the input is getting confused? shrugI was just now able to recreate the issue twice (once on wiimote, once on CCP), button mashing down and right in varying combos and speeds.

I usually use wiimote sideways, but i also use a first gen CC:

No issues in RA, besides dual analog prboom controls.

how am I able to play sengoku3 with the v1.0.0.1 release? After reading the news about v1.0 and now the v1.0.01 release I was very excited about this. Unfortunately all my wii does is crash and goes back to the HBC.

Just saw a video on youtube with sengoku3 on FBA Cores Neo v0.2.97.30. Where can I get this core? All I got is the v0.2.97.28

Here is neo geo core from RA Wii version 1.0.0. Plays Sengoku 3, kees arguments like folder and resolution while also loading consecutive roms. https://anonfiles.com/file/f5530e911204 ā€¦ 9ac87fb919 Enjoy

P.S. If you still have issues, then make sure you also have the correct Sengoku 3 rom.

In previous versions we had to have neogeo.zip in the same folder as the ROM (bit of a pain for me as I wanted all the correct game titles to display instead of the ROM name so created separate folders for each game with a bios file in each folder, I know, I am OCD!). Not sure why we couldnā€™t but the bios in the System foder like we do for syscard3.pce and the Mega CD bios files. Maybe FBA works differently to those emulators.
I had to correct my previous assumption about the Neogeo bios.

Charco you are absolutely RIGHT! The Neogeo bios has to be in the Neogeo rom folder. I had my files messed up. I figured somthing was wrong because after I updated my Neogeo bios, I could not get into the Unibios menu. Placing the bios in the rom folder fixed it.

So once again: Charco is right. Negeo bios needs to be in the rom folder. The unibios does NOT come with Retroarch. The unibios is part of the neogeo.zip ( bios )

If you want the latest bios, pm me.

I had a feeling that was the case, one sure fire way of RetroArch being taken down off the Play Store would be to incude bios files in the package

thx, but not working unfortunatly. I got my rom from gametrā€¦k.com

Thatā€™s where I got mine, ensure you have neogeo.zip in the same folder as the ROM.

I can confirm the d-pad button hanging issue with the CC Pro controller, which happens on any core at random. I havenā€™t tested the regular CC controller though.

Can you please post here:

and we will use this thread just to discuss RA releases.

i sent you a pm man, check it out. Also, download the correct neogeo.zip and have it in the same folder as the negeo roms
