Sooo… after more than a decade I decided to revisit this shader. It had potential and I think it could offer more than originally planned.

It’s a very sharp shader and it suffer from some harsh transitions that add some spurious to the image.

I have tweaked it a bit and reached a softer version that is much more balanced than the original and still is as sharp as lanczos3 with a bonus: it preserves pixel art.
