[ScummVM] Config files clutter my home directory (Linux)

Hello, folks! I just started using RetroArch yesterday and I’m very excited about it. I joined this forum right away to be part of the community and perhaps help others out. I have a few questions myself too, though… Here’s one:

I installed the ScummVM core and started playing around a little, then I noticed that its config file and save states landed in the root of my Home folder in Linux Mint.

I’m wondering, how do I tell it to put them somewhere else?

For anybody who might run into the same problem, I overlooked the solution at first. It’s in the settings tab, in the “Directory” options.

First create a folder where you would like all your cores to save their savegames, states, and config files.

Then, define that folder in the following 3 options:

  • System/BIOS
  • Savefile
  • Savestate

From now on, all cores will put all their data into that folder.
