.srm save file option vs. the .mcd save file option: I have learned through extensive trial and error, and research, that when I was using Libretro’s default save file option (.srm) in slot 1 on Swanstation my games would always end up crashing eventually and I would lose my save. So I learned from someone online that if I changed the save file option to Game Per Title (.mcd) my games would stop crashing. I tried that and it worked 100%; not a single crash. Recenty however, there was an update that removed this option and now my games are back to crashing. The only thing I can do at this point is not ever use the in-game saving system and only use save states to continue my games on Swanstation. Once I started doing that I have not had a single crash. I heard this was done because of file corruption problems but really the only corruption problems I had were with the default save file (.srm). I know I’m not the only one having this issue and I would really appreciate it if someone would either fix it or at least give us back the choice to switch the save file option to Game Per Title (.mcd). If anyone has any helpful input on what might actually be happening here I would love to hear it. Peace.
I added a link to your request to the existing issue about it on the Swanstation repo: https://github.com/libretro/swanstation/issues/49
