OK thanks for clarification. Sadly it doesn’t load any of my chd images. With the official PCSX2 they work. It seems that your versions doesn’t support zstd compression. It Would be great if that could be implemented.
I converted my ps2 Games to chd with a small chdman Script i found Here in the Forum some years ago. Don’t know about the Codec but they work flawless with lrps2.
Yes if you don’t use zstd than it works. But it would be nice to support that because it is faster then the old default codec of chdman.
I converted some stuff to CHD a couple years ago and really didn’t seem to save much space. Not saying not to do it, but if you are running into compatibility issues, it may not be worth it.
Hi,
I wanted to ask because there hasn’t been a new version for 6 months. I wonder if Retroarch’s development has been stopped?
Sorry my bad English.
The development is ongoing. Besides lot of improvements are decoupled from the main application, so you get them much faster and don’t need to wait for a global update. For the main application of RetroArch, the last update was 15 hours ago, plus devs are discussing in Discord everyday. Yes, the last major release is a while ago, but meanwhile they were adding new cores or releasing current version on other platforms.
In short, the development is not halted and is going strong as before. (And BTW this thread was not the best place to ask, because this is a place to thank the developers. Other than that, welcome to our community.)
The releases you’re referring to are the stable ones. They’re only released after a meaningful amount of work and testing has been done, so it takes some time, depending on the scope of the additions and modifications. However, general work is made almost daily. If you want to check those out before they’re properly ready, take a peek at this: https://github.com/orgs/libretro/repositories?type=all
Thanks for the cool Geolith Core (Neo Geo AES / MVS). https://docs.libretro.com/library/geolith/
For me having a good Neo-Geo Emu is key and this is a really nice to have addition. The unchanging (and more conventional) Romset, the combi-press shortcuts, near perfect RA rom-scanning compabilty and some other small things are really helpful in bringing this importent System to life. Awesome!!!
FBNeo is really good at emulating but its still an Multi arcade emu overall, but Geolith is not. Its just like any Console Core and i am guessing this is what many users want from the neo-geo platform. I wish the unchanging Romset Method can be applied for other Arcade Emu too (perhaps for Sega-STV Roms for Kronos, Naomi/Atomiswave Roms for Flycast, CPS1-3, PGM, some Cave Stuff!?) or is there a chance of getting support for these unchanging (one file)-Roms in FBNeo or MAME?
Thank you Libretro the best forum of emulation, thanks everyone here ,I love Retroarch and Libretro very much.
Just finished setting up the new LRPS2 core…and it’s amazing! It runs flawlessly just as the stand alone one. I can’t ever imagine playing retro gaming content outside of RetroArch. So thank you all for your passion and hard work and here’s to a new -healthy above all- and happy new year to all!
Been a while since I popped in here, but thank you for maintaining these forums. I just looked up a post I made 3 years ago to fix a problem I’m having again and couldn’t remember the solution for.
It was so invaluable to be able to reference that for troubleshooting.
I would Like to thank Senior member hunterk for his endless efforts. He is offen the missing Link between conversations and has deep knowlegde. His suggested workaround are often quiet crazy but they Work.
Also there is gouchi, BarbuDreadmon and Others… The Community would not be the same without you. I Love you people
Beetle PSX, Beetle Saturn and Kronos got build-in deinterlacing support just a short time ago. For me this is a great option to have, since the games from that era are often interlaced (hires) or a mix of interlaced and progressive (240p) and does not display very well on modern screens, without using a deinterlacing shader. Some Games are nearly unplayable without any Kind of deinterlacing (f.e. Tekken 3 on PS1 and Virtua Fighter 2, dead or Alive, Last Bronx on Saturn). Thank you @sonninnos and @BarbuDreadMon for giving us this cool feature. Retroarch is getting better and better. I love it.
The man is a gentleman and a scholar.
I register hete to ask for help about a problem with retroarch yet you people wants new users to approved before posting! what year is this and why are you doing this?
Oh! I know the one about the year! 2025!
It still depends on where you live, though
For quicker support, I suggest using the official channels on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroArch/) or Discord (https://discord.gg/C4amCeV).
It’s Friday the 13th right now here in Germany. I guess its time to play some horror games.
The problem are the bots (even worse now with Ai bots) and trolls. That’s why this approval thing is needed to help the forum being clean. I agree with you, when I signed up it was really annoying. But see it this way… if someone is really interested, then this is a filter to get only really interested humans through. Overall the forum stays quite clean, so it works. The complains are understandable and its a trade off the maintainers chose.
There is even a thread dedicated to this topic: How can i create a new topic? :/
So if you have any questions, well you have to go through the hoops. It actually doesn’t take much time, you just have to follow the “tutorials” to earn the rights quickly to do the basic stuff. Until then, you can ask your questions in the How can I create a new topic-topic maybe.
