Thank you Libretro!

Vulkan worked for me with lakka. Had to Set Vulkan driver in mainmenu or per core-override and Set Vulkan renderer in core Options. But then i was unable to Switch to Software Rendering. I go with glcore now.

The last Github changes of LRPS2 are over a year old. What exactly has changed?

Tons of stuff. Weā€™ll do a writeup of it whenever itā€™s officially released, but one of the major draws is ParaLLEl-GS. This is a hardware-accelerated software renderer (via compute shaders) similar to N64ā€™s ParaLLEl-RDP.

That means when Iā€™m downloading the Retroarch nightly core builds then I wonā€™t get the new version?

I was just checking this out. Itā€™s smooth as butter. It looks like itā€™s playing nice with Windows HDR now too. I used to lose HDR when I closed the emulator and had to reset everything, but now there are no problems.

OK thanks for clarification. Sadly it doesnā€™t load any of my chd images. With the official PCSX2 they work. It seems that your versions doesnā€™t support zstd compression. It Would be great if that could be implemented.

I converted my ps2 Games to chd with a small chdman Script i found Here in the Forum some years ago. Donā€™t know about the Codec but they work flawless with lrps2.

Yes if you donā€™t use zstd than it works. But it would be nice to support that because it is faster then the old default codec of chdman.

I converted some stuff to CHD a couple years ago and really didnā€™t seem to save much space. Not saying not to do it, but if you are running into compatibility issues, it may not be worth it.

Hi,

I wanted to ask because there hasnā€™t been a new version for 6 months. I wonder if Retroarchā€™s development has been stopped? :frowning:

Sorry my bad English.

The development is ongoing. Besides lot of improvements are decoupled from the main application, so you get them much faster and donā€™t need to wait for a global update. For the main application of RetroArch, the last update was 15 hours ago, plus devs are discussing in Discord everyday. Yes, the last major release is a while ago, but meanwhile they were adding new cores or releasing current version on other platforms.

In short, the development is not halted and is going strong as before. (And BTW this thread was not the best place to ask, because this is a place to thank the developers. Other than that, welcome to our community.)

The releases youā€™re referring to are the stable ones. Theyā€™re only released after a meaningful amount of work and testing has been done, so it takes some time, depending on the scope of the additions and modifications. However, general work is made almost daily. If you want to check those out before theyā€™re properly ready, take a peek at this: https://github.com/orgs/libretro/repositories?type=all

Thanks for the cool Geolith Core (Neo Geo AES / MVS). https://docs.libretro.com/library/geolith/

For me having a good Neo-Geo Emu is key and this is a really nice to have addition. The unchanging (and more conventional) Romset, the combi-press shortcuts, near perfect RA rom-scanning compabilty and some other small things are really helpful in bringing this importent System to life. Awesome!!!

FBNeo is really good at emulating but its still an Multi arcade emu overall, but Geolith is not. Its just like any Console Core and i am guessing this is what many users want from the neo-geo platform. I wish the unchanging Romset Method can be applied for other Arcade Emu too (perhaps for Sega-STV Roms for Kronos, Naomi/Atomiswave Roms for Flycast, CPS1-3, PGM, some Cave Stuff!?) or is there a chance of getting support for these unchanging (one file)-Roms in FBNeo or MAME?

Just finished setting up the new LRPS2 coreā€¦and itā€™s amazing! It runs flawlessly just as the stand alone one. I canā€™t ever imagine playing retro gaming content outside of RetroArch. So thank you all for your passion and hard work and hereā€™s to a new -healthy above all- and happy new year to all!

Been a while since I popped in here, but thank you for maintaining these forums. I just looked up a post I made 3 years ago to fix a problem Iā€™m having again and couldnā€™t remember the solution for.

It was so invaluable to be able to reference that for troubleshooting.

Beetle PSX, Beetle Saturn and Kronos got build-in deinterlacing support just a short time ago. For me this is a great option to have, since the games from that era are often interlaced (hires) or a mix of interlaced and progressive (240p) and does not display very well on modern screens, without using a deinterlacing shader. Some Games are nearly unplayable without any Kind of deinterlacing (f.e. Tekken 3 on PS1 and Virtua Fighter 2, dead or Alive, Last Bronx on Saturn). Thank you @sonninnos and @BarbuDreadMon for giving us this cool feature. Retroarch is getting better and better. I love it.
