Hello, after a while, tyrquake core updated and stopped launching any other episode (rogue, hypnotic and dopa for what I’ve tested) and I’d like to know if it’s known, something to be fixed, or if the way those episodes are launched through the playlist have changed. I’ve had this issue both on windows and raspberry pi 2. it launches quake (base game) normally though. thank you.
Folder structure:
Game Folder contains: -id1 (main game) -hipnotic -rogue -quoth
Each folder can contain a “music” folder with bgm tracks. Ogg and Flac tested working on win7 x64. Everything lowercase if you have issues.
A playlist should point to hipnotic/pak0.pak directly I suppose.
Well, indeed, everything is just like you described, base game works fine, episodes/mods don’t anymore, both win7 x64 and rpi2 with lakka RC5/latest tyrquake. everything lower case, pak0 for both episodes and pak2 for dopa, I never tried with music before so I can’t confirm if that works or not. Here’s how my playlist is just in case:
[details=Summary]/storage/roms/QUAKE/id1/pak0.pak Quake /tmp/cores/tyrquake_libretro.so Quake 1 (TyrQuake) DETECT Quake1.lpl /storage/roms/QUAKE/id1/dopa/pak2.pak Quake Episode 5: Dimensions of the Past /tmp/cores/tyrquake_libretro.so Quake 1 (TyrQuake) DETECT Quake1.lpl /storage/roms/QUAKE/id1/hipnotic/pak0.pak Quake Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon /tmp/cores/tyrquake_libretro.so Quake 1 (TyrQuake) DETECT Quake1.lpl /storage/roms/QUAKE/id1/rogue/pak0.pak Quake Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity /tmp/cores/tyrquake_libretro.so Quake 1 (TyrQuake) DETECT Quake1.lpl [/details]
is there a way I can help you debug this any further? I still have an old build of tyrquake for the rpi2 that works flawlessly. thank you for your attention and good work
You’re correct! turns out the path for launching episodes HAS changed by recent updates. now it works perfectly again. DOPA doesn’t run like it used to though. but since it isn’t supported by any means I won’t worry about it. thank you.
edit: DOPA does work, but pak2 must be placed inside “id1” folder, and launched as pak2 as well, the downside is that base game will always launch as dopa, regardless.

can i use mouse and keyboard in tyrquake core ?
You can on windows now: launch the game and in quickmenu select “controls” and “Retrokeyboard/Mouse” for player1. (define an “enable hotkey” key in settings/control too to disable retroarch keyboard shortcuts)
In Linux you will probably meet some issues regarding the mouse. Its axis can be halted by the resolution of your desktop.
For additional mods in TyrQuake the code should better be changed to always refer to the id1/.pak + hipnotic/.pak (if present) for anything launched in a “whatever/*.pak”.
I’m not the one that changed the path so I don’t know if I’m able to do that.
thanks a lot , keyboard and mouse in tyrquake exist , you say mouse and keyboard is true in core tyrquake , select retro mouse and retro keyboard , in lakka ??
