It would be great to see U64Emu make its way to RA someday. Formerly known as KIAME, this Windows emulator emulates Killer Instinct and Killer Instinct 2 Arcade (based on Nintendo’s Ultra-64 Hardware).

I get full speed with smooth performance in sound/gfx on a mid range XP machine, so getting it to run on other platforms could be feasible i guess. I tried running KI on the UME core within RA (android version) but it is slow with no sound.

Details about the emu can be found here: http://caesar.logiqx.com/php/emulator.php?id=u64emu

There are no sources that I know off, and KI works fine on MAME 0.155, slow it is though, at least to slow for a smartphone

Could this be the source: http://www.zophar.net/n64/ultra-64.html

you have a slight and almost imperceptible delay of 10 years. :ok_hand:t2:

U64emu came out because MAME was very slow but it is an obsolete emulator, currently KI in works excellent in MAME and if you want something much faster you have mame 2003 plus.

currently there is a similar emulator for Primal Rage 1, called MOO. It emulates the game correctly minus few visual glitches, bypassing the copy protection glitches and is very close to an actual arcade board. Version 2.3 (English and Japanese) as 1.7 is different and still unemulated. All other ports have many issues, with ms-dos version perhaps being in a little better state.

Perhaps mame can implement it too. They have a discord channel where you can try the beta, dated the year 2022.
