Hi,
When loading any rom with a previous version of Genesis Plus GX (1.7.4) on RetroArch 1.7.2, I get the error: “Unable to load content”. The log is not much more helpful.
The same version of the core (1.7.4) loaded the same roms fine on RetroArch 1.7.1. The newest core loads the same roms fine on RetroArch 1.7.2. However I need this previous version because newer ones break compatibility with existing savestates.

The same roms did load correctly with the same core on previous versions or RetroArch. Also the same roms load correctly on RA 1.7.2 with the latest core.

oh i think i do… your problems is the save state? or actual loading of content? seems to work fine with latest core update. if your previous savestate is the problem, or cant load in latest core, then sadly savestate handling is updated and its now not compatible… yeah it sucks if its the case coz most of the games do not have save support other than states.
The problem is not the save state, it’s that this particular version of the core doesn’t load content on this particular version of RetroArch.
update both core and retroarch… seems to load fine on my end.
I can’t update the core because I need my savestates. 
i dont know whatcha talking about… maybe someone else can decipher your code…
I realize the wording of my first post wasn’t clear; I’ve updated it hopefully to be clearer.
This was a apparently a problem with roms loaded from paths containing accented characters. It seems to have been fixed in the latest version of the core.
