What is your favorite CRT shader?
CRT-Hyllian with sharpness hack enabled and scanlines at 100% looks fantastic  It seems to do just enough filtering to hide the scaling artifacts you get when running SNES, NES, and Genesis in a 4:3 aspect ratio, without looking obvious.

What does “color boost” do, though? Changing it from 1.2 to 1.0 doesn’t seem to do anything.

Edit: Bah, never mind. I think raspberry pi users just need to avoid shaders unless they are on a 720p display, or else don’t mind scaling artifacts. There is just nothing you can do to completely eliminate the artifacts when rendering at 960x720 and upscaling to 1080p (raspberry pi can’t handle shaders above 960x720).

Interlacing works at 1080p but with integer scale it puts further restrictions on screen size.

The best option for pi users using 1080p displays who want perfect scaling and scanlines is to turn integer scale on, set a custom resolution that is close to a 4:3 aspect ratio, and use an overlay for scanlines. I don’t think there’s a better way.
I will have to try the sharpness hack for Hyllian. I really want to love crt-royale, but it’s just to blurry.

My current favorite is crt-geom. I remove the curves, dial the scanlines down to .035, and most importantly for me turn the sharpness all the way up to 3.00. I also stretch my aspect to 30:17. I find it produces a nice wide screen image on my 1080p display with slightly less stretching then 16:9

It took me a while to find out that you meant this one:

AA Shader 4.o by guest.r - works well with high internal resolutions (hint: Mupen64)
