Then I suggest testing other builds to see if you can find the offending build.
Try 1.2.1 stable version instead, iām going to test it right now and see if everything is OK with saving resolution. BTW, neo geo pocket core is not working since 1.0.0.2, the game loads but thereās no input response. Hope it gets fixed eventually.
Edit: Just tested 1.2.1 stable version, load a couple of cores, nothing worksā¦ black screen and it takes you back right into HBC.
Last working nightly build was 2015-07-13_RetroArch.7z
Both july 14 and 15 have the same issue as 1.2.1 stable.
Nothing works?
NGP input is indeed broken on all big-endian targets. Itās a known issue and unfortunately doesnāt seem to be trivial. Twinaphex has an old PPC Mac heās planning to use to debug it, though.
As for nothing working, thatās obviously not good Thanks for pinpointing when it failed. Weāll have to go bisect it and see whatās up.

Damn, that really sucks that the Wii version will be delayed further. How can I help test?
It has been confirmed working by Twinaphex, so I dunno why someone canāt get it to work. Old configs that they have not deleted?
Hmm, Iāll give it a whirl today with the Classic Controller, so it could be a false negative and probably forgot to wipe the old config files out. Is there anything I should stress test, if you will? Like spamming the core swapping, loading various cores back and forth?
Retroarch 1.2.1 doesnāt work on my vwii (black screen). Any idea how to fix it?
I did not have to delete old config files because itās the first time that I launch retroarch on my vwii (Wii U)

Well that effing sucks big time, disheartening. Dammit, if it doesnāt work for you, then it probably wonāt work for me. Are you using a forwarder channel or loading the app straight up from the HBC? Weāre screwed.
Sorry, I used a mac to copy the files. Fixed now!
Oh! Well, heh, glad to hear it. Anything else I should know about?
Iāve got a spare SD card laying around, so Iāll use that to test for now. Looking forward to it!
Just a reminder for Mac Users: OptimUSB is a great, cheap way to clear those hidden files that screw up retroarch. Iāve used it for several years now. Itās on the Mac App store.
Observations/issues: The forwarder most of us have been using for years requires the main folder to be called retroarch-wii. If you leave it as Retroarch_1.2.1 and try to load from the forwarder, itāll boot you back to the main menu. Restart/Quit Retroarch functionality is still a little funky. 240p mode has issues. Specially, Iām using 512x224p with SNES9x Next as my plasma can properly handle 240p images. The video looks fine, but the audio stutters and crackles. I canāt replicate this issue, but I think between switching resolutions I screwed up the Billinear filter. Setting it to OFF made it look like it was on, and having it ON maybe it slightly more blurry.
So overall, itās definite progress from the nightlies, but 1.0.0.2 is stll going to be my daily driver for now. On the plus side, I havenāt seen the input sticking bug pop up yet.
Good News for the Wii RA version!!
I have added (restored in fact) Sixaxis/PS3 controller support for the Wii version of RA. Just added one controller for now, while it is being tested. Also, I found the Wii RA version had a lot of unresolved issues with the controllers, most of them I solved: nunchuck was incorrectly detected, classic controller analogs were not working at all, it had some unused variables within the code, etc. Also the controller implementation donāt seem to be the best approach for the Wii as everything gets detected for user 1 (port zero unless you actually use the physical portsā¦ you cannnot use a GC in port 0 with a wiimote in port 0, i.e.), which means that if I connect a Wiimote and I want to use a GC controller I was forced to manually disconnect the wimote as it has higher priority and it disables the GC detection. So I changed the detection order and left the wiimote/classic/nunchuck detection to the end so even if I have a wiimote connected and plug in a GC controlller or a sixaxis, I will be able to use them without manually disconnect the wiimote.
Please note it is not perfect for now but I will try to implement a better approach so we can simply plug in the controllers and assign them to whichever player want to use that controllerā¦
Now, for the sixaxis supportā¦ it is very easy to useā¦ you just need to plugin a PS3/Sixaxis controller using a USB cable (please note there is no bluetooth support now) and it will be automatically detected and assigned to P1 (you can change it later if you want). It is also autoconfigured with the standard button layout. No need to previously press the PS button or something to start using it. :). It will work in RGUI and the PS button will act as the menu toggle button.
Now, the only drawback I found is that is doesnāt work as fast as a native controller like the classic or the GCā¦ but it will work pretty fine for most of the cores (Actually I only found it impacts to the gameplay in the vba-next core). It also supports both analogs and L3/R3 buttons.
ENJOY!
If you found any issue please let me knowā¦
this is fantastic news! Thanks so much. It seems with this and the other progress made I might have to clear time to fire up the new nightlies again and provide some more feedback.
Can someone help? Black screen and hang upon loading any rom in any core. Did not change location of roms( USB) but most are 4 folder levels deep : Roms/ Snes/NTSC-U/game.SFC
Started with clean SD card, so no old config files. Switching cores works as it should but starting a game result in a black screen.
I also havent noticed the sticking button bug in the rgui yet, wich is good.
NTSC-U Wii
My usb stick was the culprit, just copied a fresh unzipped retroarch 1.2.1 into my 16 gb micro sd card and it works. I have to check what is wrong my usb stick, maybe I have to reformat it. Thanks.
Well that sucks, I was REALLY hoping they implemeted this. ( Well I almost know all resolution + ratios for the systems by heart about now, but still)
Biggest problem now for me, is that I cannot get any core to load games, just black screensā¦

Dammit, seriously? Another issue with the Wii port? I think itās safe to say that the Wii version is FUBAR.ā
Was gonna try it out, but whatās the point?
7/12 nighty works but, has the annoying sticky button bugā¦
Could it be they mixed up the NGC build with the Wii build?
EDIT: not changing config files and loading 15/7 nightly , RA seems to be in working order! Skip the release guys and grab the latest 15/7 Nightly, no more controller sticking bug!!! and resolution are being saved also!

Then shouldnāt this be called 1.2.1 or whatever?
Well, actually Nestopia is broken. FCEU works fine ans the new Virtual console palette is a nice touch,
To the devs, wich in my opinion are some sort of gods, fix-it please!
