Ah bloody hell. I don’t like FCEU due to skipping issues, Nestopia is more accurate emulation-wise. Sigh I wish i could have helped with testing.

@nintendonerd1889 You could have, and still can. Testing a build is the easiest, lowest-risk way to help out.

@Hielkenator How is it broken? What’s it doing?

After more testing I guess usb rom loading is the problem. I used another usb stick and an HDD and same issue with newest retroarch 1.2.1. Even if launching retroarch from SD and loading a rom from usb gives the same black screen error, sometimes it takes you back to HBC and occasionally locks up the system. Both of my usb pen drives got corrupted, lucky fixable, but in the retroach root folder, in the playlist directory I got hundreds of weird folder/files with size about 880 gb. If launching and loading just by using SD seems it is working fine. As I previously said, last working (usb wise) nightly build was from july 13.

Nestopia is working fine, maybe you tried to load a famicom disk game? It needs the bios on the system folder.

Fair enough indeed, I’ll do so and let you know. Is there anything in particular that I should do as I test?

Nice, good luck! Just try the things you like to use and let us know if any of it doesn’t work as it should

Sounds good to me! I primarily use Snes9x Next, Genesis Plus GX and Nestopia, so I can loading multiple ROMs in successions, core-swapping in succession, etc

Just wanted to make sure you/someone saw some of my notes since there were a million posts after that.

Ah, yeah, thanks for the reports. We’ll look into them and see what we can do.

Deattach your usb devices and see if loading a rom from only sd works. Latest nightly still have this problem btw.

Have an issue with 1.2.1 and nightly build for Wii.

Launching brings up message “Resolution 0x0”, then “Wii Remote detected” then boots to normal screen, if i try to move the cursor down to load content, I get a pop up saying “Load Core” with a lot of info, but cannot close or get past it. Only have SD in system, no USB.

Edit: Nevermind, forgot to delete the Retroarch folder in the root with all the CFG files

1.2.1 and 16/7 nightly:

I can only load roms from SD card ( netopia etc ) loading from USB gets me black screen with any rom. Point filtering sometimes does not work in nestopia ( not sure for other cores, the rgui is pointfiltering but when going back to game, it resets to bilinear again) going into the core specific setting ands exiting them makes that the filtereing setting is set properly.

I am pleased to say that the controls feel awesome compared to 1.0.0.2, snappy as lighning WITHOUT sicking button bug, hurray!

No it’s definitely usb loading, SD card loading is fine.

I’m not sure if USB loading is not working fine as I have just tried to to it and I was succesful, no issues at at all. I used nes roms (zipped) and fceumm core and also the sixaxis controller that also uses usb interface to play. The only issue I noticed is that RA unzipped the roms and it doesn’t remove the unzipped files after playing. BTW, I used a clean installation of RA 1.2.1 (stable release no previous configs) in a SD card and my roms in a USB memory.

Yes as I said earlier usb loading is the main issue with 1.2.1 and latest nightly build (since july 14). Loading from SD works fine, in the meantime I’m using a nightly build from july 13th and hope it gets fixed soon.

What type of format are you using for your usb device? thanks

It´s an USB memory of 4 GB formatted as FAT 32, but RA is in a SD card, not in the USB.

It’s possible to add sub 380 resolutions like 320x224 and 304x224 (NeoGeo) to the list?? Can Wii handle these resolutions? I asked it before but unanswered…

Retroarch uses pixel doubling to handle those resolutions to avoid unnecessary scaling, so you would use 640x224 and 608x224.
I also have a question - how do you load CPS1/2 games? All I get for CPS-2 is a black screen, and CPS-1 results in no video at all, but I can hear the music slightly, albeit at an EXTREMELY slow speed.
