Win64 and Android Test Builds

Where can I found my log file? So I can post here too.

Does the old build RGUI match your .so? try a new one like l3iggs‘s build?

MESS has the most complex setting in all the emulator :wink: Maybe we should found where to put the softlist.xml, and how to place rom in the right dir.

You can run with --verbose from the command line, copy and paste.

For the log , you can use logcat ( from adb for example) .

I use my own android Retroarch build (an up to date one) , i have also tried with Lordashram same behavior.

Also i know where to put softlist and conf if needed :slight_smile: , but this is definitively not the pb as it works great on my LG G2 jelly bean device ( i’ve played some mess PC-engine game , and some mame game) it only crash on my ICS p?one.

You are genius! The FIRST MESS port for mobile devices in the world! AWESOME!!!

Pleeeeeeease write a little tutorial for the MESS dir setting,because I made a big mess :wink: PLZ PLZ. if So I could test some neocd/cdi/gp32 title on my JB4.4.2 gamepad…there are no any similar emulator before your work!

For Mame/Mess all the work is done by mame devteam , and SquarePusher who keep the libretro repo up to date. the rest is just some commits to bind to libretro.

For Dir , i just softist and load game from an folder “naming like the system i use” eg : somewhere/pce/tatsujin.zip

Also , do not fool yourself, mame/mess is design for modern computer , then the last mame releases are very slow on android. Understand that even with my quad core snapdragon [email protected], i don’t get fullspeed with mess pce core.

thx…It seems I must log my retroarch to found why it keeps crash…never do this before! =D

You are right,All these great work are done by mamedev team,SquarePusher and you. indispensable!

BTW :I put the rom in somewhere/[sys name]/[rom name in softlist].zip.

But where to place the softlist? from the blog,it shlud be in [retroarch sys dir]/ume/hash/

Could you explain it a little more clearly?

This is my log before RGUI crash…Obviously,I had place ume_libretro.so in “/data/data/com.retroarch/cores/” .And I’m pretty sure the .so file is fine when I download it.

Did I forget some important things? :rolleyes:

I/RetroArch: ( 2161): Loading dynamic libretro from: "/data/data/com.retroarch/cores/ume_libretro.so"

I/RetroArch [ERROR] :: ( 2161): dylib_load() failed: "dlopen failed: library "/data/data/com.retroarch/cores/ume_libretro.so" not found".

I/RetroArch [ERROR] :: ( 2161): Failed to open dynamic library: "/data/data/com.retroarch/cores/ume_libretro.so"

I/RetroArch [ERROR] :: ( 2161): Fatal error received in: "load_dynamic()"

Is there a build that has MAME 2013/2014 for Android still around?

lordashram’s test build always has MAME Git for android, It base on mame 0.153( or maybe 0.152)

You can grab it in his dropbox at this topic.

RetroArch-2014-07-17

Not my normal update post but it’s been over a month since my last update and it took me a week to get this far. Hopefully getting the Android port updated won’t take nearly as long.

Also, mednafen-gba crashes when trying to load a game and prboom crashed when starting a game no matter where I put the prboom.wad now.

I think there was some miscommunication between my eye doc and myself as it looks like it’s going to take months for recovery for each of the major eye surgeries not weeks. My eye sight is still shot to hell but boredom has kicked in so I’ve been using the screen magnifier for windows to assist me, it also makes me very slow at doing things on my computer. I’m going to try to do more updates as it gives me something to do other than sleep all day or just attempt to watch tv…

Really thx for your hard work!

I think you should follow the doctor’s advice, Watching the screen long time is still bad for your eyes in this time.

Although I really really want the Android Retroarch MESS core, but offical team would release 1.0.0.3 soon. I can wait :wink:

Thanks for this! Take care of yourself…

Glad you’re back!

Damn man, what happened to your eye sight?, hope you get better soon.

Anyone know if the 1:1 Par aspect ratio has been fixed for the Genesis Plus GX core ?

NOTE: For best results with Android port, be sure to uninstall previous version before installing newer versions.

MAME/MESS/UME 2014 based on MAME-SVN r31401

MAME2914 for Android did compile for me but crashed everythimg I tried to load a game so still stuck @ 0.152.

As for the Windows port of MAME it is newer than 0.154 so updated your stuff accordinly. I’ve also dropeed doing both a version based on official MAME releases ala 0.152/0.163/0.154 plus lated GIT/SBN nightlies as it’s just too much work with my limited pc usage atm. So no more mame-svn_libretro.dll//mess-svn_libretro.dll/ume-svn_libretro.dll files as the mame-svn_libretro.dll//mess-svn_libretro.dll/ume-svn_libretro.dll will be the current nightlies.

Almost there, the Android & Windows builds are slowly getting closer to being in sync and up to date.

As for what’s going on with me, I have many health issues including Type 1 Diabetes, which is slowly destoring my body despite my and many doctors best efforts as it’s the other health issues that is keeping my Diabetes from being under better control than it should be; but enuff of the doom & gloom.

Sorry to hear about your health problems. Wish you a good recovery and a big thank you for your work.

Save states don’t seem to work for Mess. I’m trying with etoile princesse on x68k, pressing my “save state” button, then I choose “1” and I got “failed to open file for save operation”. Retroarch debug doesn’t say anything.

edit: same for Mame, just tried with 1942.

I haven’t tried saving manually but on my builds auto saves work.

EDIT:

I tested this now, in MAME saves work alright, both manual and auto. on MESS only manual saves work. I haven’t tested on standalone so I dunno if auto saving works in MESS standalone.
