Thanks for the lovely comments @PapaShine! I remember when you first posted on this thread years back, offering to chip in, and the amazing uplift your skills and talents provided to this project from day 1. It all started with those gorgeous coin doors! The contributions you made in things like the 3d renders for the bezels, coin doors, trim pieces etc are still the foundation for almost every overlay in the collection today.
Also, from a personal standpoint, thanks for patiently teaching me so many techniques in both PS and Illustrator, it opened up a whole new dimension to what I was doing with this and has become a hobby in itself for me! I am deeply grateful.
So happy to have you still chipping in here.
And speaking of obscure titles, here is the Acrobat Mission overlay I said I would put together from original artwork:
I put together a marquee and instruction strip from art I scanned that included with the original pcb in Japan:
Unfortunately in this case I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the gameplay. Sometimes I find games like Metal Black that I’d never heard of but really enjoy, and I keep going back to that one as it’s really grown on me. But in this case I doubt it will get much play time…
But in any event, the game now has a higher quality marquee and English instruction set, and it may still find some new fans :).
@PapaShine I will be out today visiting my daughter at school but I’ll try to get Space Harrier added to the megabezel collection tomorrow. Looking at the reference picture this looks like a game that fits the MB look well! And I’ll see about getting you an example to experiment with real time lighting around the bezel.
