Adjusting core usage for specific games

I know this seems like a rather odd thing. but I have a few games in my Mega Drive/Genesis folder that seem to have issues with the default Raspi3 core for sega Genesis (somethingsomethingGX). The game (in this case, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles as well as rom Hacks based on it) starts alright and lets you select a game, but you go any further than a few seconds into the game and it will go back to the sega screen. I have manually loaded the game with PicoDrive (the other emulator core) and it runs flawlessly. So what changes do I make to get it to run the games that have trouble with PicoDrive instead of the regular default one?

I seem to recall it had to do with a modification to the playlist file, but I do not recall what modification it is that needs to be made, let alone the syntax.

Edit: Okay I guess what I need is the naming for PicoDrive. It’s something like:

/tmp/cores/______.so

and I need the blank. If someone could direct me to how I can find that info, that would be wonderful.

should be picodrive_libretro.so

Cool. Is there an easy way to find the way that all emulators are listed? You know, just in case I run into this same issue for other systems in the future that is.
