Alternate button combination to return to Lakka menu

Hi,

Was wondering if there is a way to change the default option to return to the main lakka menu. Using a retro style controller with no joysticks the only option that works is L + R + down + Y and when playing fighting games with people that like to button mash it interrupts gameplay constantly. I would like an option for simply pressing start + select or perhaps L + Start + Select. I don’t think this would cause as much issues in my personal situation.

Is there a file I can edit to change this? Or can this be added in a future release? Thank you.

I have this issue as well. It would be great to have more options on this button combo.

I have SNes retro style controller… i mapped L and R as L1,R1,L2,R2,L3,R3… all on the same 2 buttons… so i can use L3+R3 to toggle menu, and L1 or R1 in gaming (no game has L1 and R1 ensamble  ) No need more buttons or strange combinations

I’m not sure this would solve my problem seeing as the majority of fighting games use the L and R buttons for H punch and H kick among other things so I still foresee a lot of interruptions.

In the hotkey binds, there’s one called “enable hotkeys” (or something like that). If you bind that to something, it will make RetroArch stop listening for hotkeys unless that button is pressed. So, if you bind it to ‘select’ and then bind ‘menu’ to something else (‘start’, for example), you would hold select and then press start to enter the menu and it wouldn’t go into the menu unless you hold down the hotkey enabler.

Thanks! This works technically however if I were to change games I would have to remap the keys if I were using a different controller, say a PS controller.

This is a nice temp fix but hopefully start + select menu button combo will be added in a future update so I can switch between controllers and not worry about constantly remapping.

If I change between my SNES replica and my NES original controller with USB adapter, the button numbers for Select and Start buttons change. So, in order to prevent me from being locked out from the menu when I change controllers, I must remember to re-map the hotkeys.

hunterk: Would it be possible to add in the Select + Start combination as one of the pre-configured menu toggle combinations?
