Arcade stick x/y axis flicker

I have got Lakka up and running apart from a problem with my control stick. I’m using raspberry pi b+ combined with a xin-mo dual arcade stick. When I come to play any game the directional controls kind of flicker like its on turbo or something. So if I press up and down on sonic for example he looks up and forwards consecutively very fast.

is there a setting I have missed or has anybody stumbled upon the same problem?

I have a 2 player PCB card seen as 1 joypad under linux and had problems with the axis (the player 1 axis was also moving the player 2 even with proper binding).

This is not the same problem but I was able to map directions (up/down and left/right) on unused buttons instead of axis entries and after mapping them in retroarch, each player had proper and dedicated directions.

Maybe doing something similar can solve your issue ?

Ah that would make complete sense as player 2 controls player 1 too. I’ll give that a go!!

Thanks

Ettiene! Thank you so much. I would never have thought of swapping the axis to standard buttons. It works like a charm.
