Aweseome, Raspberry Zero

Nice. I hope Lakka will be ported to Raspberry Zero.

I picked up one this morning, it’s the same processor as the rpi 1 so I guess i can see if / how it runs when I’m done with work…

Hmm, the latest nightly for rpi 1 failed to boot on the zero? Couple of other rpi 1 image things don’t seem to boot either. I might try out the stable images later. The latest OpenElec kodi package boots, so that’s cool, dunno if this would require an update from the dev / devs? I’m not well versed in linux myself, but a couple of other openelec based distro images don’t seem to work, might be just me misunderstanding something. I think it’s just the bootloader though?

Ok attempting install vias NOOBS leads to a, “not compatible with your hardware” error, and fails to boot after attempting an install anyway, with both rp1 and rp2 noobs images. Using NOOBS 1.5. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=58151 Anyway, hope this helps towards resovling this.

the only drawback i see is the missing network port. configuring wifi would only be possible i think with a config file in the fat32 partition.

I need to upgrade kernel, bootloader, dtbs, etc

Ok, try this http://static.kivutar.me/RPi.arm-7.0/

Yeah thanks Kivutar that works great. I manually set the clock to 1000 in the config, but it runs all the available systems good. I did have issues copying the roms over though personally, seems there aren’t any non buggy solutions to accessing the filesystem in windows 10, but yeah good job.

Good that this image work. But I had to revert those changes in our code, since it was a merge of openelec 6, and it breaks too much things on the PC builds.

So what i’m going to do now is trying to update the rpi bootloader and kernel on our current openelec 5 branch, and provide a new image soon for you to test

And if this one work, I will publish the release.

Ok, can you try this one please? http://static.kivutar.me/RPi.arm/

This is exciting.

Kivutar, any plans to add some videos to your youtube channel showing the new updates?

I’ll see if i can check this out tonight.

@tekn0 yes, I plan to make a video of the OdroidXU3, since it can run heavy psp games. I don’t own a rpi zero yet

That sounds even better! I have been looking at the UX4’s. I noticed you fixed the 55fps issue with the audio sample rate. Also fbdev drivers are working so that makes the little box a powerhouse for shaders and 3d etc. Could you show n64 core performance with fbdev?

@ocarson, any news from this image?

Sorry yeah been busy, trying it now.

Well it boots up fine, I’ll try and get some roms on the thing.

Yeah I’m not getting roms on the thing without sorting out a live cd or getting usb wifi. I’m assuming it’s all good though.

Great. Thank you. You can try the 2048 core, that require no roms.

Or you can mount the SD card on your system to transfer some roms.

I just wanted to say that I have experienced no problems at all with the build posted at the bottom of page 1 of this thread on my Pi Zero.

If there is anything you’d like me to test specifically then I’ll give it a go. I don’t have a USB hub at the moment though so I can only use one peripheral at a time (a generic USB controller atm).

Thanks. I will update the stable builds with this tonight then.
