Black Screen PSX (PS1) Please Help

Hi, i’m new to Lakka.

I have now got my other emulators running fine but can’t get PS1 to work. Game files show up but when loading afeter the lakka logo it goes to a black screen.

I have the 3 bios from the Lakka guide and have checked that they have the right checksums. I have put these in the system folder and black screen.

I put them in a ps1 folder inside the system folder - black screen

a psx folder inside the system folder - black screen

in the roms folder - black screen.

I have also tried both of the cores but have the same problem.

Can someone please tell me what i am doing wrong here as i have tried everything i can think of.

Don’t put them in a subdirectory, just put them straight into the ‘system’ directory.

However, PCSX-ReARMed doesn’t need a BIOS, so if that’s the core you’re using, something else must be going on. If you’re using beetle-psx, it’s very picky about BIOS files and will only load cue sheets from a bin/cue pair. If you’re trying to load ISO images, it’s not going to work.

Thank you for your quick reply.

I have mad sure the bios files are in the right directory, but get the same black screen problem using either core.

It shows the lakka logo quickly,

then the screen goes black and at the bottom of the screen some yellow writing recognises the controller, but after that nothing.

Is there any way to find out whats causing it as pretty much all the settings are still at there defaults.

What sort of device are you running it on? An ARM devboard? An x86/64 PC? Something else?

Hi,

I’m running it on an x64 pc has a gtx 670 graphics card.

I have created a log here: https://pastebin.com/WEvqzByf

Look at the log it had some sort of looking for save state error.

I have just tried with a different rom i downloaded but still the same problem.

Looking through the log i just noticed this:

RetroArch [libretro ERROR] :: Error opening file: /storage/system/scph5502.bin No such file or directory

However as you can see in the picture below it is there and named correctly in lower case with the correct checksum.

maybe check your file permissions. OSX can be weird about that sometimes.

Thanks for your help.

I have sort of solved it.

I have got US roms working it just doesnt seem to like the uk bios.

P.S. i Checked permissions they were fine im windows 10 just with a mac theme lol.

my PSX iso loads some time , wait little more time before exit

I suggest obtaining a new UK BIOS
