Anybody run into a problem with blank playlists with black squares after updating? Wanting to check before I start messing around and reinstall fresh. Or is there an easy way to save my Bluetooth connects etc. to save me some time incase I need to do a fresh install? Thanks.
hello i already had the same problem while changing the theme to FLATUI, theme is not complete i guess. if thats the theme u are using try to change it to monochrome. You can save your config in the menu (first row i think), there is an option for that ++ S
Also make sure your assets are complete and up-to-date by going to the online updater and downloading them from there.
I thought the ability to download assets had been removed? There seems to only be thumbnails and updates for Lakka available now. In any event, I’m using the monochrome UI and the blank playlists with black boxes are still present.
I’ll see about getting a log and report back.
All “my” playlists work fine it’s just weird seeing an extra couple black boxes that aren’t used for anything.
Yes now there are only thumbnails and updates for Lakka.
For which playlist do you have black box ? Can you check in /storage/playlists ?

In Lakka one shows “._” in the corner where it would normally say the cores name, nes, snes, etc. the other black box displays nothing. Both “playlists” have no files or anything in them. There are no corresponding files or folders in the playlist folder so I’m not sure where they came from. Here’s a picture. I’m having problems creating a log file. If it would help I’ll work on it some more tomorrow after work. Thanks!
Here’s a log

I don’t know how those files arrived there. If there is nothing you can remove them.
What is the output of :

Yeah, it happened when I updated to latest nightly. I suppose I’ll just wait for the next update and see if it resolves itself. I thought about downgrading to a previous version but I have not tried that yet.
When you update, make sure that you purge your retroarch.cfg.
It’s important to get new paths for example.

By purge do you mean simply deleting the retroarch.cfg? If so I tried this and nothing changed. I’m completely open to the idea that I’m doing something wrong however…
Wanted to update everyone and say that upon updatin to latest nightly 09/17 the black boxes are no longer there.
