Noob question: how accurate that shaking really is compared to the real thing?

If I know what shaking you mean, it could be pretty bad on some games if they got a lot of traffic. Some of the games you would come across the picture would be in terrible shape.

The shaking on these games makes them a bit annoying to be worth playing imo. Hyllian referenced a different shader in the ambi compatible pack he made for me that sorts that problem out for those games. A big thanks to @Hyllian

I think the shake is much less than what we see in shaders, but I’m not an expert in interlaced content to confirm this.

I think it gets to the point where you have to scrap some realism for enjoyment and playability… but that’s just my opinion. I know some people are going for ultimate realism.

Agreed m8, I mean if I’m honest most of the cabinets I remember from being a kid had no artwork on them. So if I wanted proper realism (for me anyway) I’d have cpo’s with cig burns on em… screens burnt with cigs and probably lighters. T-moulding carved away with knives etc

…and the joysticks wouldn’t work and most of the buttons would be smashed permanently down… so, not sure where that leaves us on realism. lol
Sometimes when I’m trying to configure my MAME and Retroarch controllers I do get a certain sense of nostalgia.

That’s actually never happened to me so far. I think I need cheap concave buttons lol. I bought an enth fightsick for my mini arcade thingy but that doesn’t give that nostalgic feeling either

@Boz1978, I’ve converted your latest pack of slang presets to glsl. Obviously, any ambilight won’t work.
These are only presets, they point to the same pngs as the slangp ones.
