Both emulators open up to a black screen for a few seconds and close afterwards, like if the bioses weren’t on the specific folders (or were named incorrectly), but I’ve checked all files and they’re all fine, but I still can’t make those cores work. I’m using an old 2010 i3 notebook, 2GB ram and 64mb onboard video (not much, I know) with the latest lakka build (2.1 RC4, I believe?). I’ve read that Mednafen based cores (like Beetle PSX, for exemple) only work with vulkan driver enabled, but I can’t find this option in lakka. Is there anything I can do?
Are you use OpenGL renderer?
Yep, its the only selectable option besides null. I have an onboard intel hd graphics video card, mid 2009.
black screen in psx usually means that you do not have correct bios installed in system folder. post logs is possible.
Here’s my log file:
RetroArch [INFO] :: [EGL]: EGL version: 1.4
RetroArch [ERROR] :: [EGL]: #0x3009, EGL_BAD_MATCH
RetroArch [ERROR] :: [Video]: Cannot open video driver ... Exiting ...
RetroArch [ERROR] :: Fatal error received in: "init_video()"
RetroArch [ERROR] :: This core requires a content file.
RetroArch [ERROR] :: failed_to_start_audio_driver
RetroArch [ERROR] :: overlays variable not defined in config.
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
i think you need a gpu which can support higher egl version for these cores.
Yeah, I think both have fairly steep requirements for GL. ParaLLEl-N64 has lower GL requirements but I’m not sure if it’s still bundled with Lakka or not.
ParaLLel runs fine, but Mupen64Plus doesn’t. As for PS1, PCSX ReARMed works with no slowdowns, but I got this problem with Beetle PSX HW.
Its weird how a psx core can be so demanding, since I can run DC and some PSP games on this pc.
But thanks for the answer guys! I really apreciated it.
