I’m playing Total Carnage and Smash TV (Mame/arcade) on my Lakka PC - however I cannot figure out how to re-map my PS3 controller to allow the use of the right analog stick for firing vs. the stock configuration which uses the four buttons on the right for firing. Can anyone help with this? I’m assuming I should not go into “General settings” vs “Input for this Game” when bringing up the control options in game. Any help would be appreciated.
I’m trying to figure out a way to do this as well. It seems like the MAME 2003 core just doesnt have a way to map the analog sticks at all (axis). Does anyone have a creative way to make this work?
Thanks!
“input for this game” should work, I think.
EDIT: just saw your other post. Guess not It’s kinda a hassle, but you can set up a per-game override using the config override system to map the retropad face buttons to right-analog directions.
Thanks hunterk. I might just try that, as my two favorite games are dual-stick (robotron and smashtv). Do you know if there are plans to support analog mapping in the MAME cores?
Thanks again for the quick reply.
I think analogs are supported, just not like that. That is, analogs can be mapped to analogs, but not digital to analog, which is what you’re describing here.
I actually had this working in a prior build of Lakka - for PC 64 bit. I noticed that for Smash TV under MAME - there is no longer an option for the game to change controller configurations (when pausing the game and getting into game options). So how do I bind movement to the left stick on a PS3 controller and firing to the right stick now?
So after loading Smash TV (Mame) and then going back to the menu by hitting the PS button - there used to be a “controls” menu right under “options.” It, however, is no longer present for MAME games in the latest build. It is present for FBA games (the “controls” menu).
