Not sure if anyone has mentioned it before but, what about OpenMW?
Has there been anything on a Android core to emulate mobile games?
M3U support on Atari 800 core (for multidisk games). np2kai only supports FDDs on M3U files. HDDs must be added on a .cmd file per game. Adding some intelligence to mount HDDs and FDD on the adecuate point from the M3U would be great.
There are 3 things that would make RetroArch perfect right now IMO:
-
Update Mednafen/Beetle Saturn to be in sync with the standalone.
-
A Supermodel core (i think thatās fair since it was announced a long time ago)
-
Somehow, a Phoenix/Irata Jaguar core. I know itās closed source but the author did release a port for the android. Maybe he could make a libretro version as well?
Iād like to see proper MIDI support for cores like SCUMMVM, NP2KAI & PX68k since MIDI sound was a major part of a lot of games available through these cores.
Wish we had an up to date Bsnes that supported Retroachievements
Probably not going to happen any time soon. The memory access required for cheats is buried quite deeply in up-to-date bsnes, and it would make quite a mess to expose it. This is one of the main reasons we keep the v094-based cores around.
Thanks for the reply, i guess i always kind of liked the hi res blending options in the newer cores. i use royale kurozumi and im not sure if its possible to get the same effect with an added shader or anything.
Sure, try this one: https://github.com/libretro/slang-shaders/blob/master/crt/shaders/snes-hires-blend.slang
Thanks. Iām not real good with shaders so is there a way to use that along with crt royale kurozumi? Donāt mean to be a pain, if there is a guide or something i could use that.
Iām currently trying to add existing cores to a Super Console X Pro via the Retroarch menu. When I download the GC/Wii core, for example, it downloads and unzips into a directory, then via Retroarch, I can choose to install it via the menu, but no valid install files are found. I think the cores are all packaged into .so files. Is there any way to download them in that format or package it up myself using a tool so I can put it on my mini console?
That device runs Android on the ARM architecture, so it can only run cores that have been compiled for Android on the ARM architecture. Cores compiled for Windows and/or x86 architecture will not work with it.
I remember back in the softmodded Wii emulation days, there was an emulator that allowed me to use the analog stick to zoom in+out the picture. In real-time, while i was playing. IIRC, you could also pan the zoomed-in picture.
It looked pretty cool. I never saw something similar anywhere and i remember being impressed at the smooth zooming transition and how crazy it looked having the main character take up the whole screen. I know it sounds kinds useless but it could be useful to someone. Also, i know you can do something similar with shaders but they wonāt zoom in too much and they wonāt do it in real-time. What made this zoom function great to look at was the real time transition.
Would it be hard to implement something similar in RetroArch?
So I just found out that Shima the author of SSF has officially made his emulator open source. Itās an old emulator for sure and considering the Beetle Saturn core itās pretty far behind, although it does receive updates frequentlyā¦but Iād like to ask, do you think that itās worthwhile to bring this core to Retroarch? What do you guys think?
oh wow, thatās really awesome news. Do you have a link to the source or is there a repo somewhere?
Yeah here it seems to be the page of his releases and the source code. Also hereās the article that mentions that ssf is now open source!
hi, would it be possible to add cheevos support to FBAlpha 2012 core? I know itās outdated but for low powered devices like the PSVita, it makes some systems like CPS2 full speed. That would allow to earn achievements in those devices for those games. Is it a matter of (understandably) low priority or is there technical reasons that would make the support difficult or not possible at all? Thanks!
Open Surge might be interesting to port to libretro ?
Open Surge is a fun 2D retro platformer inspired by Sonic games and a game creation system that lets you unleash your creativity!
It is using allegro library.
as would devolution x
