Crt-mattias is very slow

Recently i have found this shader and i think it looks awsome, regardles how slow it is. On my 10 years old machine it freezes, it only works on newer and more powerful machines.

I don’t know much about shaders and how they work, but is there something that can be done to improve it’s performance?

not exactly, but the author of that shader updated and improved it and made it much faster in the form of newpixie-crt.

You can take a look at these Shader Presets as well. Some of them started off as customizations of a shader preset called NewPixie Clone by @HyperspaceMadness.
